Paquet?° while he has his moments and we for ever in his debt for that pass in the final he would be twice the player under a John Lyall or similar management. not fit to lace Devonshire's boots

"Faux, that's too much sense in one post. Moyes would have lost you after 2 seconds. Capt Soucek is his Fellaini character and will never be benched unless seriously injured or dead"

I thought yesterday was as quiet as I have ever heard the stadium which is saying something A general uninspired bored atmosphere Apart from Kudus we played with the handbrake on with no urgency or tempo Endless back and forward passing across the back 4 while Palace dropped back into position. If you were setting up against us what would you do? Ignore Paqueta because he is isolated wide left and the winger can help the full back crowd him out and block off passes. Mark JWP because he can hit a pass and open things like for the goal Leave Soucek free because we are unlikely to trust him with the ball and if we do he will lose it or be easily closed down. The solution ....put players in their best positions Bowen wide right Paqueta centrally with JWP Kudus to drift and carry the ball from a false 9 position Cornet wide left Soucek on the bench to get 10mins if we are chasing a goal

"Paqueta is not a left midfielder and Bowen is not a striker. End of. We know that, yet Moyes still tries it. What is it that he cannot see. Paqueta wasted out there when he should be central hurting teams by breaking their lines. It was an unusual game. At 1-0 up I felt as comfortable as if we were 4-0 up. Despite some excellent offensive players Palace looked utterly miserable and I would even compare them to a Championship side. Yet, our lack of offensive intent and general lack of ability to break lines centrally, means that we don't close the game down. And at 1-0 you are just a mistake or a worldie away from conceeding. As we found out. An absolute dire team are Palace and we limp to a draw. Yes, poor mistake by Stavros. And no doubt if he doesn't do that then we nick a win because Palace are so poor right now. But, again, had we won 1-0 then it would be a limp to a victory again. We are so unconvincing right now its untrue. Moyes gamble on Soucek did not pay off. And when the bloke doesn't score he does little else. Soucek's place in the team comes at a cost. With JWP and Alvarez we do not need another midfielder. Yes, he's being given a more advanced role and, yes, he's got an eye for a goal, but on days like yesterday, if its not working he needs to be subbed. You could argue that if Bowen scores from his one on one and Emerson slots away his chance at the end, then we win comfortably. But they didn't. And our lack of chances created means that we cannot afford to waste chances. Again, its another gamble Moyes takes for the sake of his style. I mean, in the first half we have one touch in their box. One bloody touch! So when we don't take the odd chances we create then it all falls over as there aren't many other chances coming. We've picked up points against poor teams recently. But we've looked decidedly unconvincing. Spurs will have a field day. My solution would be, drop Soucek. Put Paqueta back central. Put Bowen back out right. Play Kudus left attacker. Play Mubama as striker."

"It is stating the ""bleedin"" obvious to say we were poor (yet again). AND I am starting to think that if Man City offer £85m for Paqueta we should bite their hand off and try not to laugh."

just a default message post match every week now - football shit - only look like scoring from a cross - Soucek shit on the ball - Paqueta spends more time diving than hurting teams - team selection baffling - tactics non existent - no subs made - concede straight after HT - Moyes starting his press conference with how shit we were in the first half copy and paste ready for friday morning

"JayeMPee 12:23 Mon Dec 4 ''Whilst I am reluctant to praise them a Brilliant performance!!'' Why on earth would you be reluctant to praise them (Newcastle)? Bit of a strange thing to say, it's just football, mate. Don't tell me, you weally, weally hate them?"

"fraser - You really are the ultimate expert when it comes to best positions aren't you, Mrs Fraser must be happy :-) Awful crap again today, seemed like they thought one was enough and it probably would have been if not for the error, but we didn't deserve all three points and neither did Palace. Looks like we are just going to limp along in the league until the end of the season, so hopefully something comes out of one of the cups."

Is also add when we do go infront why don’t we go for the jugular? Most top half sides do. It’s a dangerous/ fucking idiotic tactic to assume an early lead will result in picking up three points as yesterdays game proved

"Zico - Kudus is a ten, that's his best position. I think he was bought to replace Paqueta. When we sold Rice Moyes said we'd need two players to replace him. One that broke up play and one that carried the ball and drove us up the pitch to replace his athleticism... But we got Alvarez who ticks the first box but JWP doesn't tick the second."

Soucek in Moyes eyes is our new superstar where in truth he’s got lucky against shit teams. What other premiership sides would Soucek waltz into?

"Someone on C&H explained that his late subs are often not about winning or tactical but about ensuring certain it players get their appearance bonuses to keep them happy that they are not losing on financially too much? Is that plausible ? Surely not but it did look that way today. Cornet and Mubama were, to me, the only players that might have made a difference. They are not world beaters but might have given Palace something different to think about. I think Moyes recent run of luck may have just run out and the next set of games coming thick and fast may mean going back behind the sofa starting this Thursday. Son and that Kulesevski fella will be looking forward to it. Trouble is I think our hopes that Moyes contract is being run down is just that “hope”. Steidten won’t be able overrule Sullivan who prides himself on being loyal to his managers ( well aside from a couple of exceptions who he treated shabbily ). As I read in some web site, if we see an early push for season ticket renewals it could be a sign he’s having his contract renewed. What a horrifying thought"

"After going one nil up early had no intention to capitalise.which is nothing unusual now,we look like a team that’s completely unorganised which does my head in as we’ve got some very decent players. Watched most of the game wishing I was helping out putting the Christmas lights up. Emerson should have scored but it appears that there’s no game plan, players all over tge place. Drew to a team at home that have lost four out of five. I’m afraid Moyes has to take some blame.today was fucking dire."

"Another turgid display of Moyesball. Whoever chooses the Sky games won’t be in a job much longer. I could moan for ages about how poor we are in possession, how we have no game plan or pattern of play, how we keep conceding after half time, how the subs are baffling etc etc etc. Or I could just c&p nearly every other comment below. It’s all just so obvious and boring."

"We really have reached the pits when it comes to the attacking, attractive football that once was West Ham and its all down to moyes. He even had the cheek to refer to the midweek match weariness, did he watch Newcastle yesterday? Had to struggle to get a team out and ran, chased, passed and took the game to manure. Whilst I am reluctant to praise them a Brilliant performance!! Joe Cole summed this lot up during half time at Thursdays Euro match, DROSS!! That is precisely what it was and what it has been for weeks. moyes surely won't be allowed to spend millions during the next transfer window will he, get rid of him now."

"Fraser . Yeah fair point, I was thinking how to get them all in including JWP. I can only imagine they thought Bowen was on his way so they went and bought another right sided player in Kudus. Maybe Kudus will work as a No 10."

"Hundreds of empty seats at a sold out game. People Just can't be arsed anymore - and who can blame them? They made the right call today. Moyes is a stubborn, inflexible, boring cսnt. One sub on 86 fucking minutes? Problem is, he had absolutely no idea what sub to make... and that's his fucking job Until he put Kudus there for the last 10 minutes we literally had no one wide left. Ward had his easiest game of the season today"
