"Monday night I went to see Nick Lowe in Frome. His backing band are Los Straightjackets. A surf band from Nashville. Yeah, sounds weird but it worked very, very well. If you like Nick and he's coming to a venue near you, grab some tickets."

"Small tangent here, but every now and then this thread reminds me of someone/something I used to listen to many years ago but lost touch with. A quick google shows just how long it has been! E.g. I was recently reminded of It Bites who were fronted by a young, thin and quite hirsute Francis Dunnery. He is now 56, bald and fatter than me! Has had a massive career doing many other things I was unaware of since the 80s too. Quite frightening really."
