"goose the silly thing about this conversation is that Johnson ended up playing midfield alongside Fornals and was better than him (and both JWP/Soucek) in the match. He also would have had a match winning assist with the cross to Bowen had the penalty decision been given. So it's not even some ""if"" he can play there, he's done it. and did well. It's not even hypothetical at this point, But anyway... opinions, arseholes etc.."

"I bet Osman must be delighted that his agent potentially scuppered his big move. About time agents were regulated and their roles and fees were defined and capped. The ones that are are just lining their own pockets and taking money out of the game whilst advising their clients to make bad decisions are counter productive, are players that thick that they can't manage to negotiate a contract without these types of vultures? There must be good agents and advisors out there but some have far too much power. Why should some self declared and trained football agent get 7m for advising on a contract where the transfer fee was 18m. The player himself probably won't earn much more than over the course of his contract."

hahaha you're making out like Johnson's 'cameo' was the second coming of Messi!! i'm sure you noticed him giving the ball away leading to the free kick they scored from at the end? 20min of an average cameo from a player who has largely been awful and you wanna sell 2 players who have featured consistently for us.

"Goose So you’d play two massively out of form specialists (so out of form you’re letting them leave mid season) instead of someone who seems in form who can play multiple positions, and had a great cameo role ? Management is about being inspired. People can play multiple positions, you just have to try them out and see if it works. And remember these are back up roles. As much as Fornals is meant to be an attacking mid Moyes often brings him on to shore up a game not get a late goal. I think Johnson can easily do that. I don’t see what’s controversial about that?"

My expectation is that nothing will happen today and the club will use the fact that we are playing this evening as an excuse. Personally I hope we don't just get in players for the sake of it... we aren't going to buy anyone that will improve the first team at this stage (unless we get a decent RB) so why bother. I would say let TS identify good targets for the summer after another wasted window but it looks like that ship has sailed. If / whem Paqueta / Kudus leave and we have £180m burning a whole in our pocket no one will be around to stop the club reverting to type and preventing Moyes wasting it on old has beens like Maguire. Another false dawn for the club!

"360 - so you basically saw 20min of Johnson at sheff utd and have decided he's a better option than Fornals & Benrahma? amazing. as for your Liverpool comments, if you really need it explaining why someone would pick them above us then you are lost."

"Biggest loss in all of this is Tim Steidten. Not simply a player but a 'philosophy', we had recruited one of the best in Europe etc in terms of sourcing and approaching new players. We were actually rid of the turd who kept fouling up our transfer activity together with dithering dave and the useless agent who kept coming back. I guess 'little boy' sullivan couldn't do without his playthings and stuff the club and its fans."

Broja can now leave on loan. Benny wants to be paid the difference in wages to move. Moyes hopeful of one signing today. Sky sports reckons we are still working on the 3 in and 3 out scenario.

"“Dont go to bed” !!! “Dont wait up” What will it be? Probably irrelevant as its too late to do much. Only thing might be this Le Havre CB. No transfer window is complete without Moyes getting another CB in or out the club. He loves a CB. He was one himself and he dreams of a team of CBs. A team of David Moyes in fact, the greatest footballer and man he has ever known.. Narcissus would blush at his self indulgence ;-)"

"Goose I know what I see on the pitch. Johnson can play many positions. In fact he was midfielder before he was converted into a defender. In terms of how Moyes plays Johnson is actually a pretty good fit in that position. Especially as the goal threat of Benny and Fornals is pretty much non existent this season. So it’s not like Johnson would do any worse. We are talking about backup players here as well as we know Moyes is going to play the 1st team into the ground. If everyone’s fit Benny and Fornals will never play again for this club. You know that. So Johnson isn’t bad cover for like 4 positions now. As for my Liverpool comment. These aren’t star struck young footballers getting turned by big name clubs. This is exec level stuff. It doesn’t alway follow an exec who is well paid will just leave a job to go somewhere else, no matter how big the club name is. There are other factors. But we will see.."

360 i think you might actually know less about football than H&P!! How many minutes have you seen Ben Johnson actually play in midfield? You seem to assume that he is suddenly gonna step into the boots of Fornals or Benrahma. And this on tops of yesterdays nonsense about liverpool.

Philips should not be in for Benny or Fornals they are bench warmers at best now.... Soucek is who he should be replacing - sit Soucek on the Bench and we have an option when chasing a game or need to defend a lead.. But if Philips is replacing either of those 2 he's on the bench too.... Can't see that!

As long as we keep Cornet and Johnson in this window I don’t think I’m that bothered what happens with Fornals and Benny. The reality is Moyes doesn’t play the second string players regularly enough for them to be useful to us. So we’d haven’t really got good performances out of Fornals or Benny this season. Having seen Johnson play in midfield I’d rather him play there over Fornals or Benny if needed. There’s no guarantee that osman or jota wouldn’t have needed some time to adjust to the league this season. So they probably wouldn’t have made an impact anyway. Cornet and Antonio to come back as well. I don’t think we’re in a bad position.

"I don't dispute the fact that Benrahma and Fornals are both shit and not up to it, but to let them both go and get FUCK ALL in would still be madness. It seems like Sullivan and Moyes are playing a game of ""how small a squad can we get away with"". The whole thing is just bizarre and an insult to supporters (especially those like me who shell out for season tickets)."
