AWB, who I said people have gone well OTT with, has been a fucking disgrace in this half, he's the main reason we are losing. The midfield, whilst clearly shit, are not the shittest thing about this team ffs, it is that defence, with that idiot right back thrown in. It will see us finish rock bottom.

 

It’s not that it’s his fault, more that really good keepers get things they have no right to get. That’s what makes them great keepers. This one just seems “almost there” all the time. Which is not what you want from a PL level keeper.

Todibo was not as bad as some but I suppose sacrificed to get the 4 in midfield

Defo worth trying the keeper in midfield as he is good with his feet . Not so good with his arms

Agree with Eerie about the keeper on the whole. And AWB sufferung HOTY curse. 2 goals their attacker gets in front of him and he’s dreadful in the air on the first too as well as being outmuscled.

The biggest problem is still the central midfield. JWP, Soucek and Paqueta collectively not fast or athletic enough. They have been passengers for much of the game.

Hope Potts performs but he aint quick

This is the worst West Ham team I have seen in all my 50 + years of supporting West Ham. I cant remember ether Grant or Roeders team playing so poorly and gutlessly..

He's now hanging the poor lad out to dry 2nd half against this Chelsea Team 3-1 down. What a cսnt. As for Wheelchair Wilson....

I think the basic issue for us is that the 3 CB’s don’t push up to support the midfield to progress the ball. You kind of need to create an overload in midfield so that every pass isn’t risking losing the ball. Without the extra defender moving forward it’s just a waste of possession. 

we could make the wing backs tuck in more to add that overload but Potter clearly doesn’t want that. He wants the width from
the wing backs.

i think it’s a really flawed and deliberate system. And i don’t think it matters who he puts in the midfield tbh. Could put prime Modrich and Iniesta and it would be the same issue. 

Let’s see how (if?)  he changes it in the second half..  but the only surprising thing for most of us is Paq hit one from range. Other than that this is exactly what we expected sadly.
