Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Gaffer, Time to think about a new telly I'm afraid. Everything is now being filmed in 4K HDR (high dynamic range) and film makers are shooting stuff darker and darker because most new TVs can differentiate between black and not quite black. They do the same thing with whites too and proper highlights are now searingly white. It basically comes free with a pretty modern TV and especially OLED TVs (if you're using a top spec Samsung, Sony or Apple etc phone it's the same technology) and looks and sounds fantastic - bundles better than an older TV. In fact it's a bit weird to go to the cinema and be constantly reminded that unless they are like a Lux and use a proper digital projector the cinema picture can't render black properly and is instead a muddy dark grey. It's got to the point where given the choice nine out of ten times I'd rather watch a film on my 65 inch Panasonic than pay 12 quid to watch it at my shitty local cinema."

"Just started The Terminal List, but finding it hard going because every scene is filmed at either night or with very poor lighting."

Watching The Last Man on Earth Really interesting concept and very funny in places with some clever cameos throughout - it does get samey at season 3 onwards. Weird thing is it’s from 2016 and features a global virus that wipes everyone out. They have a few episodes from when the virus starts and the details are eerily similar to exactly what we went through. They knew

"Apologies if already mentioned, in the previous 4,000+ suggestions, but ""The Americans,"" is a very good watch. Russian spies, operating, in America, during the 80's."

Yup The Terminal List on Amazon Prime is a good watch shame about the mumbling dialogue. Yet another series where characters can endure falling off cliffs and being shot and still be able to run off ! That said we will continue to watch it ;-)
