"I saw Roger Waters on the 'Us and Them' tour earlier this year. His band were ok but the guitar parts were screaming out for Gilmore. The Wild, the Innocent and the E street Shuffle. Springsteen"

Thought Los Endos were considered the best Genesis tribute around? I know they had plans to play in Dartford sometime soon.

"dm, Brit Floyd are the best doing it. Damian who leads them and plays most of the Gilmour solos and vocal parts. he was in the Aussie band for many years before starting up BF. Ian Cattell, a yank, plays the bass guitar and sings all Waters vocal parts and a few of Gilmours. it wouldn't be the same without Cattell as he does such a good job sounding like Waters. he was also previously in the Aussie band"
Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"Aussie Floyd are brilliant, some of their stuff sounds better than the real Floyd :-)"
Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"Takashi Miike I've seen a few Floyd tribute bands. but I haven't seen the ones you mention. I used to really like think Floyd back in about 1999/2000 and they even did two albums of original material which were very good, but now seem to be deleted and even seem to be erased from their history. They are worth seeking out. I'm not a huge one for tribute bands, but I do intend to make the effort to see StillMarillion sometime. They are supposed to capture the essence of early Marillion very well"

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away; Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air. You better watch out, There may be dogs about IÔøΩve looked over Jordan, and I have seen Things are not what they seem. What do you get for pretending the dangerÔøΩs not real. Meek and obedient you follow the leader Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel. What a surprise! A look of terminal shock in your eyes. Now things are really what they seem. No, this is no bad dream. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want He makes me down to lie Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by. With bright knives He releaseth my soul. He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. He converteth me to lamb cutlets, For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger. When cometh the day we lowly ones, Through quiet reflection, and great dedication Master the art of karate, Lo, we shall rise up, And then weÔøΩll make the buggerÔøΩs eyes water. Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream. Wave upon wave of demented avengers March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. Have you heard the news? The dogs are dead! You better stay home And do as youÔøΩre told. Get out of the road if you want to grow old."

"Sheep is a superb track, they even get a bit of Psalm 23 in there, with some altered lyrics"
Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
I agree. I regard Gilmour as possibly the greatest living guitarist on the planet. It is often forgotten that he did some great guitar on The Final Cut. And I love The Division Bell and there are some great moments on A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Sorrow is a terrific track with a great bass line and some wonderful guitar playing by Gilmour.. Not sure can't understand why I have never managed to get into any of Gilmour's solo albums.bjectively they are musically brilliant. subjectively I find them dull to listen to.

Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"his lyrics dominated them, loads of those tracks on The Wall & Animals wouldn't be worth anything without gilmour's solos. especially something like Dogs"
Re: What if anything are you listening to now?
"I think it is pretty much undeniable that objectively, David Gilmour is a better musician than Roger Waters. And seems to be a nicer bloke. But subjectively I find all Gilmour's solo albums to be dull. While I absolutely love all of Waters' solo material. and the Floyd albums that he dominated, such as Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut."

"dm 1:30 Wed Oct 17 Re: What if anything are you listening to now? I've never understood why so many people hate The Final Cut. I've always loved it. so wonderfully self indulgent and full of bile. And I do love all of Roger Waters's solo albums . For me, the worst album they made, it should have been released under Roger Waters name only I think that was the final nail in the coffin to Waters and Gilmour's relationship"
