NFL (since 2016)
"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The Jets are facing their seemingly eternal dilemma in the off-season, having now lost five games in a row: Find a quarterback who is a genuine NFL starter. This issue has dogged us for decades - probably since O'Brien (1980s) and certainly since the golden era of Broadway Joe. Basically, the Jets have only had two, arguably three, genuinely decent quaterbacks in their history: Namath, O'Brien and the pre-injury Chad Pennington. With the exception of Favre, who turned up in Gotham just before he retired, every other QB has been a bust, over-rated, over-promoted or little more than a decent back-up standard. Three good QBs in 62 years of history! For all of the hype and fuss around him - and his obvious talent - Zach Wilson has turned out to have the very character flaws many of us suspected he would have when he wandered into Gotham: big ego/small town mentality, refusal to sit and learn, kid in a (milf!) candy store and, underneath it all, an (so far) inability to deal with real pressure and responsibility. As a consequence, he's gone backwards in his two seasons. Mike White has been a surprisingly half-decent back-up, but that's all he is: a back-up. We need to re-sign him for next season (he's an unrestricted free agent in January). But what the franchise decides to do with Zach Wilson will now define the improving Saleh's tenure. This is a young roster packed with genuine talent - but it needs a leader at QB and somebody who can play pragmatic football, make his check-downs and move the sticks. Wilson has tried too hard to be a superstar, found out he's not (yet) that good, hasn't worked hard enough on his game and has consequently lost all confidence. Worse, he's been a bit of dick in the locker room and training - so his team-mates aren't overly keen on him. Unlike last season, I don't really have major concerns about Saleh at this point: he's shown genuine improvement as a head coach this season, even though the wheels have fallen off in the past few weeks. Specifically, our defense has improved in terms of structure, playbook and quality - and that's Saleh's side of the game. So he's having an effect now. But we need to find a QB. There's talk of Jimmy G from the Niners. I actually think he has the character to improve us and to cope with the media and fans' attention in New York (which can ruin players). What the Raiders do with Carr will also keep the Jets interested. But there are few other options for trades or free agency - and this year's draft looks thin for QBs. Another left-field option: Baker Mayfield (who, despite his own problems, I actually think has the ability and ""fuck you"" mentality to succeed in New York. I'd be tempted to sign Mayfield when he becomes a free agent (from the Rams) in Jan/Feb, then re-sign Mike White and force Wilson and White to compete for the back-up job next season (trading the 'losing' player once the 2023 season starts). It's that or Jimmy G, by the looks of it."

"I'm off to Seattle on Friday to watch our game v the Rams. Don't like having to rely on the Lions having to beat the Packers, so am sure Goff will find another way to make me hate him even more - but that's the cost of losing to shit like the Panthers and the Falcons. Whatever happens though, been a much better season than I expected, and we'll get a great draft pick thanks to Denver"
Re: NFL (since 2016)
"Raiders have some players on offense, Devante Adams, Jacobs, Waller, Renfrow etc: Stidham played the game of his life and Devante Adams made some amazing catches. If that's what it takes to put up pass yards on our D then I'll take it. They were playing for their playoff lives yet we still won. Niners D made some big plays, especially in the second half when it counted, Our Offense was lights out""¶.. # 2 seed baby! Feels good!"

"Grumpster, It is a bit worrying how many yds/pts the Raiders have gained today, but the Raiders can be like that. One of the NFL's great underachievers but capable of inexplicable, very effective performances. I think they found it hard to plan/scheme for Stidham."

"Burnsy you slag! 5-10 is a mess""¶..No draft picks, no pass rush, weak run game, only 1 good W R. Got bitch slapped twice by the Niners, AGAIN! Even Seattle is taking the piss. It's all down hill from here son! Book it!"

"I guess the Broncos' defence have finally run out of steam. The poor bastards have been on the pitch for ages this season. I was gutted when Tua threw that third interception. The first two you could, at least, understand but that one was nowhere near a receiver let alone an open one."

Well the was stressful My 77 year old mum was at the game I was glad to get a text from her after the final whistle just so I know her ticker held out Good performance apart from the early interception Dak was superb and that throw on third and thirty was insane. We really should of won by a lot more defence is pretty banged up at the mo had a few players missing and didn't really show up till that last drive but I'll settle for a win

Re: NFL (since 2016)
"The wheels have fallen off the Jets' revival, with four losses in a row now - combination of a very long injury list, games against good sides and some joke performances from a young QB who seems worse than lost. Zach Wilson has gone backwards faster than anybody I've seen for some time. He got booed throughout last night's game - by our own fans! He showed a slight improvement at the start of the season, but only playing repeat plays. Asked to master a bigger playbook, which is a core requirement in a second season, and he has struggled badly. There's talk of the Jets trading for a new QB this post-season, as Saleh (who has improved as HC this season) really isn't sure about him. We've still moved forward this season, due to some quality offensive players, a surprisingly decent back-up QB (now injured) and, best news of all, Saleh's big improvement on defense. But Wilson is now a dilemma. Do they stick with him or go in yet another direction at QB? Could waste a lot of young talent elsewhere on the roster if they get that call wrong."
