Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"It still makes us better overall and Phillips can move forward with the ball, he isn't just a sideways and backwards DM is he. The reality is Fornals and Benny are totally worthless now, as we have seen bringing them off the bench is totally pointless, that is not going to change. We could probably let both go and it wouldn't effect the remainder of our season at all because they don't contribute, right? We can put Antonio wide who would be better than the hapless Benny and Fornals."

You don't think it's weird you're replacing wingers with a defensive midfielder? Coventry and Philips are both defensive homegrown midfielders.

"""Nutsin 2:29 Thu Feb 1 The money is already nestling in the club's back pocket, you dim fucking cսnt. We are awash with cash."" If you mean the Rice cash, that's mostly still in Arsenal's pockets, as we are being paid on the drip We even had to take out a ""pay day loan,"" against the Rice money, to fund our spending in the summer window."

"Coventry? Are we back to this weird motion of 'replacing' players who never played? Phillips in, either Benny or Fornals out = in better shape."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I see Phillips replacing Coventry (who left) in the squad. That's a massive upgrade. We lose Fornals and/or Benny, then we weaken the squad further."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I wouldn't worry too much about Myes lack of vision, he will be off soon anyway. With Xavi leaving Barcelona i expect Moyes is top of their list and his representatives are currently deep in negotiations to replace him, after all i'm led to believe that if Moyes leaves we are fucked and couldn't find anyone better to replace him, so surely he is a shoe in for a top job like Barcelona?...or is it just little old West Ham that can't do better than Moyes?"

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"I don't even think we need to go out and spend 30 odd million on a player. A few loans and smart deals would see us over the line, the main core of 13-14 players are quality and can compete in the league. It's the lack of quad depth that is most concerning. We get an injury to one or two and we could well slip down. Phillips on paper is a good loan, but he is injury prone and what makes Moyes think coming here he won't pick up a knock or worse. The lack of foresight from Moyes is terrifying."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
Well said scott and duke. You have to pay well over the odds to get anyone in Jan. If we wanted to have the best chance of top 6 we would do that. Example might be Bergwijn who they wanted £35 mill or more to let go this time of year. We walked away soon as we heard that I suspect. Wide left midfielder who could and did play ok in the Prem. No guarantee him signing gets us top 6 and in Europe but suspect he would have helped. So the risk is always high this time of year but we wont take it unless its to keep in the Premiership worth 150 million a season. We may well not make Europe next season hence loss of 30-50 million. If you look short term like an accountant then yes paying over the odds of 35 - -40 million aint worth it because it at best only brings in 30 say. But if you want to maintain momentum and build its a multi season investment and you need European competition. If we dont make Europe next seasn we have slipped back again. Quality pkayers less likely to come in the summer and hence the gap to the top 6 remains and our revenues fall further behind

"Make you right Duke. We'll never spend in January unless there is a thread of relegation. Even though we are 6th right now, the club will take 16th at the end of the season if it means they don't have to spend a penny."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"You’re allowed 25 players in a squad, and this season we only managed to fill 24 places. With Phillips coming in, and Kehrer and Coventry going out, we are now down to 23. There is no way we can let Benrahma and Fornals go today without getting anyone else in. Plus, Moyes has very little faith in the youth players who won the double last season. A few injuries and we we’ll end up with 4 goalkeepers on the bench. We only seem to splash the cash in January when we are in trouble. Last season we spunked £15m and stupid wages on Ings. Four seasons ago we got in Bowen and Soucek. Whenever we are in a good position we sit on our hands and turn down the opportunity to push on."

"Again, another chance to really push on and cement our place amongst the the top 6 and we decide to stand still."

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"So that's that is it? 1 Loan in, 1 loan out and few of the kids have gone on loan as well. Not a very productive window all things considered; Philips is a plus but not like DFM was a real priority, but then what the fuck do i know?. 5/10 Must try harder in the summer."
Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Vexed Perhaps we are flushed with cash, however we apparently wanted to sell a few players too, doesn’t appear too many other clubs were flushed with cash to buy our rejects. not a hot market all round this window. So do us all a favour and fuck off with your retarded West Ham hate. Fucking simpleton!"

Re: Official Transfer rumours and gossip thread
"Why would Steidten leave? Well not having to work either 2 dithering cunts would be a good starting point. Liverpool will have a massive reset and having the best part of 200 million to spend after the sale of Salah would be another big pull. I'm convinced thats the reason Klopp is going, due to the board doing a deal with the ragheads for the serial diver."
