On this site, my guess is that it’s 80:20 in favour of replacing Moyes to see if we can progress even further in terms of better league / cup performance while playing in different ways ( possession, pressing etc ). It’s possible we get another Pellegrini scenario but I think the risk is worthwhile personally. Football is about entertainment and excitement and the chance of that is worth it. Moyes has limitations. He has demonstrated that even with better plays he does not have the know how to develop other systems and styles and build a squad and get the best out of a larger investment in players. Why I’m more hopeful this time is Steidten. Getting recruitment right most of the time is something we’ve never done and having coach aligned with a DOF with same the same ideals is critical. That alone is reason for Moyes to go as rumours the two don’t see the same way on how a club should be run, game should be played. The squabbles will continue between us.
