"I'm with Eerie, last nights shitshow should surprise no one, this is becoming the standard level of performance under Moyes. Its got to the point with me where its more about winning or losing, i just want to see us try to be creative and look like we actually give a shit."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Bowen was dreadful by his standards last night as he continually failed with controlling the ball and misplaced passes but no wonder hes not a central striker that does that well. He runs with it from wide positions and cuts in or gets decent crosses in the box and he looked better of course once pushed out wide later on in the 2nd half. JWP was awful but he’s never a wide left midfielder. Like Fornals, Benrahma he has no pace or ability to get around the outside and should ot have started if not central. Now I have obsessed on the problem of Soucek for 2 years although relatively speaking he was good by his normal standards and better than Phillips ( not hard as he was nowhere near match sharpness and fitness) , JWP ( out of position ) and others. But if Moyes is going to play him inthe advanced role he has to score or at least work the keeper. But even his supposed aerial strength? He doesnt know where the ball is going when he heads it just like his passing. Zouma’s big problem, and why Chelsea let him go, technique of control and passing. Huge problem for a team wanting to keep the ball and play thru the lines. He’s a CB of 20 years ago. Good in the air and getting blocks in. But his lack of agility is obvious, He looks like a player who’s got bad knees and riddled with arthritis? Probably because he is. Unlike some i though the Greek fella did ok and made some good interceptions and won the ball and defended well. Johnson too did ok but like others was hampered by the lack of width, pace and movement or passing options. The number of times he was obviously saying who wants it from throw ins was telling. His passing and crossing is what he needs to work on but actually played the best ball of the evening inside their left back for Bowen who completely wasted the opportunity. Soucek needs to be dropped to start getting players in the correct position. Kudus is the one to play centrally of him and Bowen and play Cornet wide left as he’s the only natural wide left player we have. Finally hats off to Areola and Kudus for getting us a point but if we want an example of shy David Moyes cannot take us forward last night was the game that epitomised his limitations. A squad that cannot pass, no pace, cannot press and 4 players out of position. Get that Bournemouth manager in or someone who can coach and develop the players"

"Russ of the BML 11:36 Fri Feb 2 Can't disagree with any of that. Moyes is the architect of his own problems. Whilst I am obviously delighted that we have Kudus as he is an exceptional player, buying him has created the problem of losing the effectiveness of Bowen who is clearly a better player on the right. Then we loan Phillips when that area is fairly covered. Whilst not on last nights showing, Phillips is a definitive upgrade on Soucek but he doesn't replace Soucek, just moves JWP out on the left where he is totally ineffective. Moyes obsession with Soucek is just baffling. The guy can't pass a football and chases shadows and without goals adds nothing to the team, so what does Moyes see in him?! Zouma looks like injury has done him. He is 29 but moves like he is 69. You could have stuck Alvarez at centre back and kept the balance in central midfield. The age of the squad is a serious concern. Most are late 20's or in their 30's. The squad needs major surgery but Moyes isn't the man to do it."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"It's bad when you just accept that he will play Soucek 90 mins every week no matter what. Worse when you accept he can watch the same game we are watching and wait until the 94th min to make a 2nd sub. He is too set in his ways to change now, all this nonsense I want us to play better football is purely that. JWP on the left, would any other manager on the planet seriously think that was a good idea? Reliant on Bowen and Kudus as always. I had to look up all our results this season to see if there was a game we actually controlled and was enjoyable to watch. Probably only Arsenal at home in cup?"
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Utter dogshit last night. Quite possibly the worst I have ever seen us, particularly the first half. To put JWP on the left and Soucek up to is ludicrous in the extreme, particularly when he has Cornet, Ings and Mubama on the bench. Great management of the team again. They aren’t the best players but surely it would be better to put them in rather than shoehorn others in. I don’t get his Soucek obsession. Even if he didn’t want Cornet in he could have gone with 3 at the back with Emerson and Johson as wing backs, with a middle three of JWP, Alvarez and Phillips. We suffered with nothing on the left for pretty much the whole game. Moyes is a cock, and there are still people defending him. On the train on the way back there was a bloke saying he thought it was a good game and that we played well."

"I'm really not sure what anyone is moaning about. That was just more of what's been served up for over 2 years now. We have a half billion pound squad littered with talent, yet we cannot win games without the Brazilian, who even though is wasted out in the left wing, can create something magic in turgid right games (which is every game) that can Nick us undeserved wins. We are a fucking disgrace, we rely on our £120k a week keeper to get us points, we have £100mil worth of centre backs and they all look shaky, a top notch left back, a £35mil holding midfielder who's class, the best set piece taker in the Prem, a £50mil Brazilian international, £35mil sensational winger, Bowen who could start for England, players on over £100k a week on the bench, just added an England regular to the squad... AND WE'RE STILL BONECRUSHINGLY SHIT TO WATCH Don't worry though, we were shit back in the 90's when we had Mike Newell & Steve Jones up front, so can't complain."

Bowen cant play centre forward if you launch high balls at his head for centre halves to clear. Player of that size needs the midfield closer and playing him in or putting balls across the goal face JWP as wide left? Ludicrous Soucek as a number 10? Farcical Bournemouth pressed and when they won the ball had players running wide into space We were static and got pinned in and couldnt make simple passes. Lost count of the number of times we gave the ball away or played a short ball to a player with 2 opponents up his ARSE. Areola made 2 or 3 saves from what should have been goals ...usually after we gave the ball away in our own half A truly abysmal performance and Bournemouth will be kicking themselves. Should have been 1-3 at least. After we got the pen against the run of play I dont think we threatened at all

"I'm not blaming phillips last night, but he looked exactly as I expected for someone that's sat on his are for to two years. there's no pattern of play, so it makes it difficult for squad players to ever shine as he continually relies on individual bits of magic and goalkeeper heroics to rescue him. how people still fork out money to watch this shit is beyond me. what made it worse, is you had that scouse cսnt on the co-commentary gaslighting the viewers saying ""this isn't like West Ham"". Yes, it's like it every fucking game"

"I'd be surprised if Moyes manages to fluke the rest of the season. That should mean he's toast. In a way, maybe its good we haven't brought anyone in for him to destroy. We looked like a team who were playing 4 central midfields and no striker last night. An absolute shit show. JWP on the left wing? LOL"
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"Copy and paste from virtually every game this season Shit performance Clueless team selection No style of play Can't keep it for longer than 3 passes No subs Soucek awful Someone playing LW who isn't a LW and is shit there Can't attack to save our lives Played off the park by a team below us Moyes out, can't stand the level of performances any more. Shit coaching and set up. We must be the worse 6th placed team ever! Fucking chore going over there at the moment"

Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"For me now its bordering a farce. It is so clearly evident how badly our players are coached. No gameplan, no clue, no idea. It's just pass it sideways and back until we get an opportunity to move it forward and then see what happens. Moyes is very, very clearly a football manager but an absolutely dreadful coach. He is frustrating me to the point of anger now. His whole history shows him buying players who are raring to go only for him to bench them for a few weeks until they ""settle in and get up to speed"". He buys a DM we didn't need and plays him straight away. And on doing so he somehow squeezes Phillips, JWP, Soucek and Alvarez into the same fucking team. It's laughable. JWP now the latest victim of Moyes obsession with Soucek (who did fuck all again apart from miss a sitter) drafted out to the left. Why? What other football manager would ever play JWP on the left? What other football manager would play four central midfielders in the same team? What other football manager would play one player based on his ability to get on the end of crosses when we only cross the ball into the box about five times per game? What other football manager would play one striker at home to Bournemouth and have two strikers on the bench? What other football manager would play your best right winger as a striker and leave strikers on the bench? We got a draw last night because we do have fundamentally better players than Bournemouth. But as a team they are far superior. I sat up high last night and I can tell you their press was outstanding. Their defensive shape and organisation was also outstanding. To a man they knew exactly what they were doing and their work rate to keep that up was superb. They were so good in fact that when we had the ball, my eyes were often drawn to their players watching how they inter-changed on the press and cut the space down. Was a real lesson in how to defend. And when they got the ball they very quickly transitioned into attack with numbers and intent. We on the other hand look shaky at the back. Zouma looks like he is playing with a club foot. We have no organisation. We get the ball and have no idea how to beat a press. It becomes tiresome and intolerable, with Moyes no clue on how to adapt. And this has been my argument all along. I am not an obsessive Moyes out. But I don't want him here next season because his methods are old, boring and outdated. And when I look at Bournemouth I wonder what their coach would get out of our squad. I know it would be a damn sight much more than Moyes."

"""Last night we had a lot of poor footballers playing"" Do you really think our players are worse than Bournemouth's? Or any of the other smaller teams who have outplayed us this season? It's a team game and if the manager sets the team up wrong then all the individuals in the team will look worse than they are."

"I sat up in the death of the night to watch this garbage which passes of as top level football, but that's my fault I'm a fool, not even Moyes would sit in the wee hours watching the shit the cսnt serves up. IMO the standard of our football has now become unacceptable, so what we going to do about it? What summed it up for me was Cornet coming on with 3 mins left picked up the ball in a decent position and passed it back. You could fucking despair, I wonder what Sir Trev thought of it, if indeed the great man was foolish enough to still be in the ground. Once again Moyes got lucky, we should have lost again, same as the same garbage we witnessed against Brighton, he's the luckiest manager in the game, but it won't last, in a few weeks we will be mid table and out of Europe, and rightly so. I don't know what gives now, I have no hope for the rest of the season, we are an absolutely shocking side, as well as having the worst back 4 in the PL, we can't pass, can't create, can't shoot, can't get motivated, have no energy etc. Moyes - I despair with you, get the fuck out of my football club and go and make somebody else's life a misery, you are an absolute disgrace to the modern game. You offend me on every possible level."

"After 4 years, with more money spent than ever before, that is how Moyes has managed to get this team which he’s assembled, expensively, playing. Staggering that there’s anybody even trying to defend him when I can’t see a defence. Defensive negative manager assembles a defensive team, even playing 4 defensive midfielders and they still can’t even defend, four fucking years, that we’ve festered as Moyes has not only made us worse on the eye, he’s systematically destroyed and made worthless any players he’s brought in. We won a trophy, sixth in the league, I’m absolutely fucking bored with it."

"The highlights say it all! The only time we feature is for the penalty, the rest is all Bournemouth, scoring or going close. We really need to sort things out, hope Moyes has realized we shouldn't play with 4 DM,s and only 2 forwards..........And why is it the lesser teams seem to do better against us? You wait we will give ManU and Arsenal a game and pick up points."
Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Bournemouth - Official Match Thread - Preview
"We were playing Bournemouth at home FFS (no disrespect). We should be taking the game to them. Instead we defend deep, and when we win the ball we lazily spoon it upfield forward straight back to them and put ourselves straight back under pressure. Pattern of the game and lucky point that we didn't really deserve. OK it got better second half but overall dull as Fuck and sorry for people who paid good money to have to endure it. Seriously, we should hand out 'Wake me up in the event of a goal"" stickers so that fans can sleep through the rest of the game"
