"I'm usually Pollyanna, an optimistic person who tries to see the diamond in the dogshit but I left the ground last night completely dispirited. Someone on this thread said it was 'artless' and I couldn't agree more. When someone like me has this reaction to a performance I think we're in real trouble. What in the name of fuck did we just do in the winter window?"

"Takashi Miike 4:45 Fri Feb 2 Not surprised at all, wouldn't be surprised if Pearce said similar. At least with Allardyce you knew what his plan was, ugly as it may have been. You knew that he just played the percentages and tried to build from knockdowns, but with Moyes I really don't actually know what he is trying to achieve. Even if he just lumped it long balls up to Soucek up front it would be ugly but at least would make some sort of sense but yesterday, first half especially it looked like someone was trying out a new Asymmetric tactic on Football Manager!"

First half last night wad a throwback to the shit we was watching for a good part of last season. A totally sterile atmosphere and as I looked around me to see a middle aged man no less chomping on his popcorn as another misplaced pass went astray I realised how far we had fallen as a proper football club. I longed for the days of the chicken run Percy Dalton and Stevie Bacon. Dinosaur football played in a soulless bowl of a stadium.

I refuse to believe twoleftfeet and wd40 are being serious anymore. Their existence on here is to solely wind up proper supporters of the club.

"Even if Moyes felt he had to pick all those players as he doesn't rate any of the subs, he could have so easily played the same 11 in a 352, by dropping Alvarez to CB. This would have at least given us some balance and width on the left and not have Bowen so isolated. Beggars belief that he actually couldn't see that JWP as a LW was a completely shit idea."

Have had a few poor results but Bournemouth have been decent recently The manager has them moving and passing the ball to each other and they pressed well to make us look turgid and disorganised. Having a proper centre forward to organise their attacks around and Semenyo looked a good player. Was surprised they took him off. They will be fuming that they didnt take 3 points which was down to spurning a couple of positions where they allowed Areola to save us.

"zico 3:32 Fri Feb 2 Warburton said he doesn't welcome advice/help. It's like walking on eggshells when trying to talk to him, and his football philosophy is the complete opposite of him. If you want an idea of what the staff deal with, watch any press conference"

Not sure Bournmouth are currently a Bang Average side. They have a similar record to us recently points wise.

"Dare I say that Phillips will make our football even harder to watch? Where was the flare coming from with that midfield 4? Writing was on the wall before the game even kicked off. Ofcourse Phillips is a good player but I’m not having he is any better than Alvarez. As for Soucek, don’t get me started. I’ve never seen a slower more awkward player with the ball at his feet."

"I seriously wonder if all the staff are on board with Moyes and his philosophy, or lack of it. McKinlay, Nolan, Heitinga, Robson and Newman - do they all agree that putting JWP on the left and shoving Soucek up front is a good idea? Irvine (although he is still a technical advisor), Pearce, Warburton, all left coaching roles and one wonders as to the reason."

"Willtell 3:00 Fri Feb 2 Yep. We'll be premier league football next year, so the Sad Hobbit don't give a flying fuck about what happens from now on. And people STILL don't believe that is the business plan. I'd love to hear other interpretations of what's going on."

"I'm not going to add to what has already been said especially by Russ and Sir Alf. What I will add is that all the problems start at the very top. Until he is no longer the major shareholder we will lurch from one crisis to the next as we have done since he arrived... I suspect that's because he manages not for the long term but, the instant needs only he sees at that moment in time. Lots of you won't understand what I am saying unless you've ever worked for someone like that..."

dont blame you Ron. The whole game day experience at that shithole is bad enough as it is. Then when you pay to watch that turgid football as well..... I genuinely couldn't care less that we are 6th. We will be mid table end of the season. Can't wait for him to go

"Given the reduced train services home for me, I found myself checking train times and thinking when to leave from about 65 minutes. That wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t so drab. This is the closest I’ve been to knocking it on the head. I don’t live a half hour train journey away anymore, so much more of a commitment of my time to watch that load of shit and go home with the ump. Factor in I’ve got a new born, and I think I’d rather play golf in the few hours I get at weekends than waste my time travelling and watching that bollocks. I’ll be actively selling my ticket for the rest of the season, might turn up for Arsenal, Tottenham and at a stretch Liverpool. I’ll also renew just to keep my seat so I’m not really helping any protest against the state of affairs! But we should all be happy right? We’re sixth. Those that look at results only and say its all rosey can fuck off. To top it off, just read the wankers Man Utd press conference and he genuinely thinks we’re in good form. I despair."

"Billy - Of course, this is one of Moyes's faults he relies on individuals to win him games rather than formations and the team playing as a unit. As I say just on the law of averages and players back etc we will play better and hope last night was a low, let's see on Sunday. It's shocking how incapable we are of retaining possession and carving out openings, we seem to make every side we play look like prime Barcelona, B'mouth got tonked at home 0-4 last week. In the last few games we haven't even been a counter attacking side, we haven't been anything and got lucky nicking draws against Brighton and B'mouth due to their poor finishing and Areola."

"Last night first half made me genuinely angry. The selection and formation were a disgrace- and how do you even expect the players to play well in that situation? FOUR out of position to accommodate four fucking central midfielders at the same time. While one actual winger and two strikers sit on the bench. I feel sorry for Soucek being stuck up front, I feel sorry for JWP stuck on the left wing. I feel sorry for Bowen also shoved over to the side of the pitch he never plays on. Zero flexibility in the formation. Just ramming square pegs into round holes yet again and somehow expecting it to work. Like sending a fleet of red mini coopers to do the 29 bus route. Phillips gets a pass for last night. He shouldn't have been put in that position either. Alvarez should have been sitting deepest, as a man in good form in his best position. He again got shuffled to accomodate the players- this is EXACTLY what I feared when Phillips came in. Not actually picking 2-3 of them per game and rotating to keep them all fresh. Just bunging all four of them in and hoping it would work somehow. At least for once there was a change in formation in the second half and we looked a bit less shit, but hey how about changing personnel as well? You know- put a winger on the wing. It's completely Moyes' fault if hes got himself into a position where he's alienated several players but either not playing to their strengths or not playing them at all to the point where they want out in favour of sticking stubbornly to playing his favourites. I'm fucking glad the transfers for Benny and Fornals didn't go through. We need them now. If they are willing to play with full conviction. It's the final act of disrespect to two of our players to not even care enough about making sure all the details are done so they can go and resurrect their careers elsewhere. WHAT A FUCKING SHITSHOW. Last night was a real low point. Sure we lucked into a draw but that would have been a deserved heavy loss were it not for Areola. If this is his plan for the rest of the season to crowbar Phillips, Alvarez, JWP and Soucek all into the line up at every opportunity then we are fucked. Sure he might claim that he had no alternatives, but that's utter bullshit. We had plenty until you made them want to leave. We had them sitting on the fucking bench. You put out your best TEAM, not just what you consider the best 11 players we have regardless of their attributes and what position they play in. FFS. I'm going to lie down."

"Manuel Take your point about Paq but surely a team sitting inside the top six should be capable of applying some real pressure when playing at home against a bang average side, even without their srar operator?"

"Agree that this type of performance has become standard now, but the last few games have seen new lows. In reality though our performances are likely to pick up at some point, which ain't saying a lot, once Paqueta is back and Phillips is up to speed etc, but forget top 6 and winning the EL, think it's going to be a very tepid remainder of the season and likely end up 9th/10th."
