What a fucking car crash of a Club they have truly become. Just got knocked out the League Cup at home to Southampton, off the back of a horrific start to a new season.

Is this the season they finally go down, on the eve of going in to their new poncey Stadium next season? I do hope so.

Oversaw a trophy win which you have to be grateful for and the COVID season and following season were good while his Moyesball “low block, fast counter and set piece mastery” tactics worked well. The tactics aged better in Euro competition as teams were not used to them so fair play it was effective for a little while.

But from the point where managers and their teams set up to neutralise his tactics it all started to unravel fast. And when not winning, and in fact starting to lose heavily, his system of play is a very very hard watch. Having 20% - 30% of  the ball every game etc. Anyone who says that’s not the case I would say is being dishonest just for the sake of getting a power kick from trying to irritate others ( and seeing them take the bait 🥴).

It was time to move on for both parties. His tenure at Everton will be ok for a while but I would wager a repeat of the problems he had with us within 12-18 months and fans becoming increasingly apathetic and disengaged.
This implies Moyes only has one style of play which is not accurate. Not sure why Alfs insists on posting the same thing over and over again. Moyes is a very good manager, you don’t get to stay as a manager in the Prem for as long as he has by having only one style of play. Given time and money he could have built another squad for us to go out and win more trophies, something we will never know.

Anyway, good luck to him at Everton as much as I’d like to see them relegated it won’t happen, at least not this season.

Im on board with Potter now and am quietly optimistic that he will do well for us, one things for certain, Potter will continue to be compared to Moyes for some time.
Oh Nutsack how utterly hypocritical of you to accuse Alfs of posting the same thing over and over again.

However I agree with you Moyes has more than one game plan his counter attacking high press, which he definitely used early on in his second stint was very effective, the shame was he reverted to a low block game which wasn't as effective or good to watch.

What I am surprised about is the way Everton appear to be playing, hard to tell from highligts, but they had high possession and shots on target and when you compare that to the way we performed in the last 2 seasons makes you wonder why, but maybe he has inherited a better Everton squad than he left us with.

We'll see if it lasts.

Personally I am grateful for some good times, but was tired of the football. So it's not so much about wishing him ill, it's just a little embarrassing for a fanbase that is known for wanting to push on by getting rid of him and he gets his new struggling club to finish above them.

Linger is the right word.

Moyes clearly lingers on the mind of many on here. Rent free.

Yeah I’m not really bothered either. I’ve no hard feelings toward the man.

but they have only played woeful sides so far aside from Villa- or sides in woeful form. So he’s had a bit of a blessed start to life there.

Don't want to be the doomster, but I am very concerned about the likelihood of Moyes taking that job before Christmas and them finishing above us. It's going to happen isn't it. You know it.
The frequency with which I repost this somewhat undermines my claim of not wanting the be the doomster. But this is looking more possible by the day.

In Potter I trust to save us from this!

The glorified competition winner to play with the 1st team, bless him. A top career cruely cut short for turning out to be mega shit.

Nearly 6 years ago we signed this guy. Rumoured £10m - was it that much? What a waste. Played a couple of times for us. I was at his debut vs Watford (IIRC) and the only thing of note he did was clatter their centre back.
It would’ve been £10m based on a load of appearance-based add-ons, which obviously weren’t met.

Not expecting Moyes to go there after he said this in an interview a couple of weeks ago;

“I don't want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times, so we will see how things go”

If Moyes goes back to Everton I think he will become the first manager to manage two different Premier League clubs across two spells at each of them. I can't think of any other examples of this, nor can I think of it in the old First Division either.

He seems a bit 'limited' in his job choices, but then he is an out of date dinosaur who more progressive clubs wouldn't touch with a barge pole, so his options are limited.

Would be handy if he could take some ex players off our hands we don't need anymore. Cresswell, Coufal, Antonio

Hopefully Moyes will increase their scoring potential by taking Cornet & Ings
£30m for the pair, can’t say fairer than that

Moyes goes back then Everton are safe!
