I was thoroughly looking forward to the start of this season
Was also prepared that things might take some time and wasn't expecting miracles over night What I didn't expect was a manager who after spending 6 weeks with the total dross he'd been left by Moyes would deem them fit to start in a premier league game And low and behold all of them played absolute shit
We're now 1 game in and none of our new players are any closer to bedding in or learning anything from their new team mates cos they barely spent a second on the pitch, half of them not at all I think it's gonna take somewhere between 6-10 games before we see the team anyone with an ounce of sense would play cos this bloke can't identify shit when he see's it I thought we was handed a miracle at half time when we went in level and low and behold he changed nothing I'm sure people are gonna make excuses for him and say it's too early to judge
But from what I've just seen today, this cսnt is David Moyes in a mission impossible mask

He hasn't openly complained about anything and has just got on with it. I'm making the point that had he got either Striker he wanted instead of what he ended up with, then things would be very different. We can all see what both Duran and Ormorodion have done since the start of the season scoring freely so his judgement was spot on and their goals would make a real difference to our League position and relieve the pressure on the rest of the Team with the amount of chances we clearly create these days. Fullkrug was not his man but Steitdens panic buy. People are welcome to easily dismiss it but it's what I strongly believe.

Also, Lopetegui walked away from the Wolves job cos he wasn’t happy with their transfer policy
all of a sudden he’s blaming our poor form on signings he didn’t want
how fucking convenient
doesn’t add up though, cos he would’ve walked, like he did at Wolves at the time, if it were true
the blokes just as classless as Sullivan

He was stitched up from the start when he didn't get either athletic Striker he wanted in Duran or Ormorodion and look how well they've both played since the start of the season. Instead Fullkrug was dumped on him who's old and unfit by comparison. Had he got the Striker he actually wanted the performances and results overall would have been much different.
All for the sake of a few bob extra only for Sullivan to pull on the purse strings and we end up with slightly cheaper but still expensive attacking alternatives in an injury prone 31yo carthorse and an untried inexperienced 18yo Guilherme instead.
And people wonder why Lopetegui would have the right hump with Steidten and the Board for giving him dud alternatives when he identified genuine quality Forwards that wouldn't break down or need much time to bed in first.
We were linked with both Duran and Ormorodion under Moyes, so it’s bollocks to suggest they we’re Lopetegui’s picks, or that he was stitched up by not getting them.
Tryng to make out he has been hard done by is laughable.

Lopetegui was stitched up from the start?
don’t take the job then
never once playing 11 players in their correct positions in a single game he was in charge of is solely down to him

The way Sullivan has treated him is indeed terrible. The actions of a coward who could not face the guy and explain why he was having to call time on his tenure. And sadly its plausible Sullivan was hoping Lopetegui would walk too to avoid conpensation. But of course it wont be Sullivan that gets Lopetegui into his office to tell him its over. That will be left to Brady his henchwoman.
It was a bad fit from day one and many people thought so including his Technical Director it seems? But I think most fans want any appointment to work out but like so many in the world of professional sport, where there is big money involved, it just didn’t. Lopetegui tried his best to deliver better football but failed with Sullivan and Steidten to recruit all if the right type if players to make his tactics work. Its happened to many managers/coaches at many clubs down the years.
Good luck to Potter or whoever gets the gig next. How
How you get success without leadership from the top, no strategy or vision, a set of teams, coaches, execs and board members all with different ideas and approaches? We need a miracle worker with Sullivan running the show

from wiki.......Brighton achieved their highest top flight finish after beating West Ham United 3–1 on the last game of the season, ending the campaign in ninth place with their highest Premier League goal tally of 42 and reaching 51 points, 10 points higher than their previous record of 41.[sup][63][/sup]
Potter became the first Brighton manager to win at Old Trafford, after Brighton beat Manchester United 2–1 in the opening game of the 2022–23 season.[sup][64][/sup] On 4 September, Brighton beat Leicester City 5–2 at Falmer Stadium, the first time Brighton have scored five goals in a Premier League fixture.[sup][65][/sup]
On 8 September 2022, Brighton announced that Potter and five members of his backroom staff would depart the club for Chelsea.[sup][66][/sup] Chelsea reportedly paid Brighton around £16m for Potter[sup][67][/sup][sup][68][/sup] and an additional £5.5m to £6.5m in compensation for his backroom staff.[sup][69][/sup] He was succeeded at Brighton by Roberto De Zerbi.[sup][70[/sup]

Not defending Sullivan for one second, but the pic of Steidten was from December when we played Leicester. Potter was doing media work on our game. Could still have been tapping him up about a job, but maybe just talking football……. Or men’s knitwear.
Well that's the claim from Whetstone on the basis of the 'clothes he was wearing on TV'.
Makes no sense to me though as the hotel is confirmed as the Waltham Abbey hotel (Geo got a tip on it, went on their website, and matched up the pictures to the chairs they were sitting in).
Given we were away to Leicester 3rd December...smells like bullshit to me.
He matched up the chairs? Blimey that’s commitment.
I guess when all you have to do each day is churn out a YouTube vid....
It's all a load of shit. Sullivan is telling the media all this hoping Lopetegui will resign a few weeks after his old man died. . Our club is run by a c&nt. The right way of doing things is keeping his (Sullivan ) mouth shut and speaking to Lopetegui privately.
What I'd like to know is why wasn't the Potter/Steidten meeting done away from the public why was it at a venue where someone can take a quick photo and post it on social media

New manager appointment could delay West Ham's transfer businessLatest from Sky Sports' Rob Dorsett, speaking on The Transfer Show:
"They are going to sort it out in the next couple of days and I expect him [Potter] to be appointed in the next couple of days.
“Then they will be talking to Potter about which new signings he would like. Virtually every club in the Premier League has a sporting director and a technical director.
“One is dealing with the managerial situation, it may be the sporting director in charge of the footballing policy.
“I understand West Ham are pretty active even after spending £100m in the summer, they are looking at what is out there and are interested in Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. It does not put their transfer business on hold, but it might be delayed.”

I do think contracts should have clauses in them to stop managers getting a massive payout for doing a shit job. For example, play 20 games with a less than 33% win rate and you can be fired with no compensation. And to counter that, the bonuses for being successful should be very generous.
Seeing people get very rich because of their own failures is very irksome.
I'm not speaking with a forked tongue at all. Potter wouldn't be my first choice. Doesn't mean he's a classless prick. You really do have your tongue so far up proven failure Lopetegui's arse that you literally can't see

You are not literally seeing nothing, unless you don't want to see it. You and other's are more than welcome to pretend and ignore we don't make countless goal scoring opportunities these days and if we had a fit and clinical Striker up top to put many of these chances away this season, the intensity around the blokes future would be non existent. Instead he has had to put up with no Fullkrug until very recently who's fitness is still lacking, his other main Striker Antonio involved in a potential career ending car accident and Bowen getting injured in the Liverpool game for 2 months on top of everything else going wrong for us up top.
The signs are clear that the quality of passing as Team now is generally decent that creates a shit load of chances when we can field our main Keeper (shock, horror out injured due to new concussion protocol) and don't have to rely so much on the Greek tragedy in defence. People can overlook all those mitigating circumstances and pretend it doesn't make a jot of difference but to those like me it certainly does. And that's before we even get on to all the constant nonsense off the pitch involving conniving protagonists in charge conspiring to fuck it all up.
Sacking him off the back of losing away to Champions Man City and Champions elect Liverpool is laughable.
It doesn’t matter how many chances you create if you concede similar. I struggle to think of a team more fragile to the counter attack, it’s abysmal.
He’s not being sacked solely on the back of those two results. He was told to improve performances, not just results. We blagged a win at home to Wolves, and draws with Bournemouth and Brighton, and even against Southampton, who btw, Brentford just beat 5-0.
Like I say, I was all for giving him time, and while I agree the attacking fluidity is an improvement on Moyes, it is on the whole still absolutely shit. No amount of pinning the blame on one defender or the lack of a near 40 year old keeper for two games is removing responsibility from Lopetegui.

You sure are. You don't even rate Potter yourself so don't speak with forked tongue...
"A magnificent 31% win percentage at Brighton which for some reason was good enough to get him the rent boys gig. It was only 40% odd at Swansea too."
