5-0 loss and hoping that happens early so they take their foot off the gas and Pep rotates some fringe players on.

Strongest team from the options available. Motivation is a massive problem so it certainly won’t do any harm to start as strong as possible though with this clown that will never happen.

1) Paqueta as captain you desperate weasel
2) You clearly don’t know where Guilherme plays.
3) no Soucek

anymore clueless offerings Pickle?

I really hate playing this lot, only feels marginally better than an intl break weekend.

Fwiw, I think Fab can play.
He can't

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański is also not eligible for selection for the clash with Pep Guardiola’s team, and is now following the Premier League’s concussion protocols in the wake of his head injury and first-half withdrawal at Southampton on Boxing Day
I said that because on Hammers Chat they said that the concussion protocol in the PL has now been reduce from two weeks to one week, but who cares anyway.
It's from the os... But it wouldn't surprise if they've got it wrong, it's us after all.

Heart says a close defeat 2-0.
Head says another gutless performance and a thumping 5-0 loss.

I suspect we will have about 25% possession and probably no shots on target until they’re 3-0 up.

at 3-0 I think they’ll back off and see the game out.
Agree, although this is not the City that we usually play, even when they beat Leicester last week Leicester had a lot of the game and good chances. It's depressing that we all seem to think we're such a gutless outfit, I'm fucking sick of it. We need be at the very least competing today.

Another defeat surely. This has the potential to be whole other level worse than the Liverpool game. Our only hope is city regress back into having the problems they had recently. Clutching straws.

As with Liverpool anything below a 3 goal deficit will be considered a result. But could be a lot more.

Tempted to do an Allardyce and go strikerless and stick Todibo in midfield just for the legs!

Tad optimistic Stubbo. I’m seeing another 5-0. largely agree with your selections but would stick with Alvarez holding midfielder. Also now agree the dafest place for Paqueta moght be how Moyes deployed him. Not a free role or he’ll give it away for fun. But see if he can link with Emerson like he used to.

everything will come down to tactical aproach on how many we concede though.  Keep it simple, almost Moyesesque with a mid / low block and try to rcploit them with a fast counter.  Thats their weakness when they play their high line albeit they have players all with excellent passing so keep it far better. Summerville on later to maybe ( clutches at straws) exploit their openess on counters as they get tired from 60-70 mins?

But truth is that we aint getting anything from this whatever we do but at least try to set up to not allow so many chances as they will not miss many.  Play well but lose by a couple is good as it will get imo.  Not sure how anyone would rationalise anything different. Unless a 1 in a million freak result with them having 2 sent off, hitting the woodwork 5 times, every VAR decision our way and our only 2 chances on goal going in. Its not too much to ask is it?  🥴

Team:
—————— Fabianski
Wan Bissaka   Todibo  Kilman Emerson
——————- Alvarez
————- Soler——- Soucek
Kudus——Fullkrüg——-Paqueta

Subs: Areola, Coufal, Mavro, Scarles, Irvine, Summerville, Guilherme, Ings, Orford
