Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur all agree to plan. Five English clubs are among 11 European teams who have signed up to a breakaway Super League in an extraordinary development on the eve of Uefa's announcement of a new Champions League format. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/18/sports/soccer/super-league-united-liverpool-juventus-madrid.html"
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"This is why FIFA, UEFA and all the National Leagues need to look at their rules and put forward amendments which will stop this happening again. I assume or a rule change to go through it needs the vote of a certain number of clubs. At the very least a rule therefore neutralising the possibility of future breakaways not voted for by the big 6 would therefore they are going to try again. It's unaffiliated football pure and simple."

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"What they don't ""get"", what they find difficult to monetize as a guaranteed return, is the inherent risk (of failure) that makes the game the one everybody loves across the world. No risk, why bother? May as well have Disney & Pixar make the games as a franchised series. Yet you can bet your arse they will risk billions on a stock market fluctuation without so much as raising an eyebrow. A thick rock and a very hard place are up against one another. The victory of one makes the other worthless."

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
"'We continue to believe that European football needs to become more sustainable throughout the pyramid for the long-term,' Joel Glazer wrote on the United website. 'However, we fully accept that the Super League was not the right way to go about it.' Joel Glazier today. Translated, we still want more money but we win’t call it a Super League next time. ""In the background, you can be sure that we will be taking the necessary steps to rebuild relationships with other stakeholders across the game, with a view to working together on solutions to the long-term challenges facing the football pyramid.‘ In the background, so despite all of statements about keeping you involved we will still be working on changing the game you love."

"If you're gonna have a fans review you need some cսnt to ask the right questions. Sure, favourite crisps will gain kudos on here, but questions that make the target feel awkward are what's needed."

Government fan review - you mean like the morsels of safe standing that have been gifted to the fans? You mean like the reviews of fitness of owners which basically mean if you’re not carrying a sack with ‘SWAG’ on the side you get waved in. Everyone complains about our owners and our VC is a Tory Life Peer! The most likely outcome of a fan review is to fund bigger truncheons for the West Midlands Police.
Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Somebody needs to update the SUPER LEAGUE's website and remove the club badges of the teams that have pulled out of it. https://thesuperleague.com/#who_we_are

‘but with ways to protect the founders’ But if you are a founder you are in effect an owner. Even if there was relegation you could still write the rules to ensure you still got the financial benefits. This owning the league you play in has all sorts of advantages when the founding members get to write the rules. The dumb ones will be the ones that sign up with lesser rights than the founders.

"""Isn’t that what the new CL is going to do anyway?"" Possibly? But without the glorious amounts of cash being chucked at the 12 biggest teams. That's quite a bit of difference to these owners."

"""In seeking to create a more stable foundation for the game, we failed to show enough respect for its deep-rooted traditions – promotion, relegation, the pyramid – and for that we are sorry"" From one of the weird looking Glaziers. This isn't going to go away. They're going to get the fans onside and then come back with a new proposal with relegation, but with ways to protect the founders."

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
There’s a rather unconvincing not much new how it happened thread on the Mail online. Makes it all sound a bit ‘nothing much’ and doesn’t add much new. Being the Mail it includes Prince William’s ‘intervention’. The sweeping under the carpet has started I believe

Re: Football Super league rumours yet again !!
Can somebody please post up something more relevant to the OP before this thread descends into a thread about dirty old perverts reminiscing about which slitty-eyed slapper district they prefer?

They need to be made an example of. Anything less and the same shit will happen again . Ps it was hilarious to see the list of recent titles the others have won recently compared to arsenal and especially Tottenham if that doesn't end their brainwashed delusions nothing will.

"just before covid i went to a Hamburg game - they are in the second division and were playing a team i've never heard of but the experience/atmosphere was ten times better than the OS. funnily enough the OS would suit a kind of 'fan park' outside were people could drink beforehand. safe standing, cheap tickets and being able to have a drink in your seat all make a huge difference."

"Westham67 6:15 Wed Apr 21 Used to love Nana - just that bit more edgy & sleazy than Cowboy. Bit like comparing the Big 6 to the other teams in the PL, I suppose."
