Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation
"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

Re: Euro 2024
Are we allowed to talk about saka letting cucurella run off him with a 10 yard headstart and then not bother trying to get back? Or do we have to talk around it like they've spent an entire tournament talking around how absolutely fucking shit kane has been?
Re: Euro 2024
"the better team won and no complaints. Should be the end of Southgate. That's two on the trot he's bottled. Looked far better when Kane went off, not sure what he as thinking with toney coming on in the 89th minute. Anyhow like to see what another manager can do with this talented squad. I'm in my 50s and England haven't won a thing since before my parents were married. Hard to believe it will be 60 years of Hurt at the 2026 WC."
Re: Euro 2024
"Oh well, beaten by a far better side and could have been four if it hadn't been for Pickford. A very good Spain side made likes of Rice and Bellingham look very ordinary. In a nutshell we haven't been able to keep the ball and use it well enough and somewhat fortunate to have been in the final. Credit to Southgate for getting to two Finals and Semis but at same time he has had luck of the draw on his side and sticks too much with his favourites. Maybe a braver manager needed for the future and maybe time for Kane to hang up his international boots as well. A top England striker but maybe time to step aside."

Re: Euro 2024
"No complaints, the best team in the competition won it. I wish him no ill but will be glad when Southgate moves on, we have a clutch of very good young players,. Given the freedom under the right manager, they could do great things."
Re: Euro 2024
"goose 12:25 Wed Jun 12 Re: Euro 2024 I’m tipping Spain to win the tournament. Just saying. Best team won the end, winning goal was a thing of beauty. England weren’t good enough with the ball, and didn’t make it difficult enough without the ball. Far too passive, albeit against a very good team. Oh and a massive gutted to Nutsin & Northern Sold."

Re: Euro 2024
Too little too late…good fight …but… Best team won… Waistcoat tactics old school…pedestrian but with some quality players… Didn’t expect tget the best out of them in any game… Defensively weaker than usual…Walker…Stones…Rice outpaced… Mainoo Saka off the pace …easily dispossessed…

"Looks like Gareth's luck has finally run out. Well done Spain though, best team of the Comp so no complaints. Kane to share the golden boot i think which is a travesty really!"

"that's his mentality, planning to bring on fucking gallagher rather than gordon. the only positive from this is it's hopefully his last game as manager"

"Kane should never have started, been the problem in every game. Glad he's taken Mainoo off for Palmer too, been like a rabbit caught in headlights. Palmer yeeeeres"
