You mean our second highest scorer who was also a regular in our best seasons in recent history?

What you should be saying is:
it’s incredible how the inclusion of Paqueta has been the defining feature of a dreadful season so far.

but then you understand absolutely fuck all about football so I’m not surprised.

They have a new manager whom I rate pretty highly.
we will get beat and Lopetegui will have “x game to save his job”.

its so predictable.

I'd go with Massive Attacks side.

This should be a comfortable win but this is West Ham we're talking about so stumbling to a scrappy, untidy 2-1 win will shock no one.

Its got a classic West Ham, “the gift that keeps on giving”, win feel to it for the team at the bottom of the table.  They will press us and we will turn the ball over in midfield.  Armstrong has got a bit of pace so will get in behind our CBs as they counter on us.  If Southampton dont do it thru their play we will no doubt be on the end of shocking ref or VAR decisions or a red card early doors.

60 odd years following West Ham has scared me. Xmas period has rarely been good for us and we always seem to be on the end of new manager bounce situations.

I want to see a solid defensive performance, no cheap giveaways and progress with keeping the ball. But just think we’re too slow in the middle.

Happy xmas

2-1 West Ham, we’ll grind out a win after making Southampton look like Brazil for most of the match, Fabianski MOTM

Think it will be a treble of south coast team draws.
If ever there was a game for record breaking Brereton Diaz to score this is it, but thankfully he must be locked up somewhere.

Fabianski
Wan Bissaka
Todibo but prob mavropanod
Kilman
Emerson
Alvarez
Soucek
Soler
Bowen
Kudus
Summerville - but prob be fullkrug

Ings will pop up with a late goal

Southampton got a good point & clean sheet last time out at Fulham but have been appalling at home.
Absolutely no excuses today
Paqueta is suspended not injured but Soler comes back
Lopetegui has had half a season so we should be seeing some sign of what he is trying to achieve

We hardly ever get new managers during the season, only when their contract runs out, because the Russian submarine commander is too tight to sack them. Avram Grant was so bad, he had to sack that cսnt.

Needs to be midseason panic. If I remember well Moyes got a stonking win in his first game and then lost everything until covid!

Just like the Leicester game, we are faced with a team with a new manager.

Let’s hope we don’t gift them three points like the Leicester game.

By the way, are we the only team that never gets a honeymoon period with a new manager?

Couple of early goals will define the match; for us it will effectively kill the game and I expect 1-3 or 1-4 at FT.

For them it will (should) galvanise us and I expect a Desmond at FT.

Fence? What fence???

New manager bounce for Southampton incoming, Paqueta injured for us, and then a team that was already good in possession with added aggression.

Can see this turning into one of those games where we're the ideal opponent.

Gonna go for another low quality draw (1-1) but would not be remotely surprised to see us beaten.  Following up with poundings to come from Liverpool and us no doubt helping get Citeh back on track...could be a grim few matches. Merry Fucking Xmas.

Team for me:

Fabianski

Wan Bissaka
Todibo
Kilman
Emerson

Orford
Soucek
Soler

Bowen
Fullkrug
Kudus

Subs:
Areola, Coufal, Scarles, Mavropanos, Alvarez, Summerville, Irving, Guilherme
