This one could turn very ugly.
Very few options but would be good to surprise everyone and play the players avaiable in their correct or preferred positions as per the team suggested below. I simply adjusted it slightly to have Kudus in a free role centrally where he has played before for previous club ( Ajax ) and for his national team. He also says thats his preferred position I think?

So exactly what I said and thought of your kamikaze line-up then, Alvarez all alone in the middle of the park left to defend against a super attacking Liverpool Team.
Cut the shit - you want to play a three man midfield with the injured Soler, Alvarez and Paqueta. And for good measure you'd play Bowen out of position. You're basically a dribbling mong.
I'd play Bowen up top because we look really dangerous and lightning quick going forward when flanked either side with the likes of Summerville and Kudus, just like we instantly did against Brighton once the carthorse got subbed off. We would keep Defences stretched and honest worrying more about their own goal rather than ours with that kind of set-up. I doubt whether Fullkrug would manage to start yet another game with his fitness track record anyway.
Soler I'm hoping was more of a knock rather than a bad injury and was just unable to play the 2nd half. If he's out then it would be Irving I'd bring in to replace him.
Soler Soucek Paqueta worked fine up at Newcastle. All that changes is Alvarez for Soucek due to suspension. We look good as a 4-3-3 Team.

Re: West Ham vs Liverpool | 29.12.2024 | Predictions & Match Thread
Anyway, like I say a five-man defence is defeatism, as is playing Kudus or Bowen out of position when Summerville and Fullkrug are available. So, with Soler and Fabianski most likely out injured, what I'd like to see as a starting line-up would be
Areola
AW-B Mavropanos Todibo Emerson
Kudus Alvarez Paqueta
Bowen (c) Fullkrug Summerville
The subs in Stubbo's team are OK.
Sorry, is that where you think Kudus plays??
He's a Midfielder remember.

If we must play 3 at the back then I definitely want to see Coufal in the line-up.

I think he's basically expecting Alvarez to defend the Team all alone in the middle of the park against 1 of the most deadly attacking in-form Teams in Europe whilst Kilman is also out injured..
I think it’s perfectly obvious you’re talking shite.
Chuck ya Team up then, Goose did ask as we're all intrigued/baffled....
Re: West Ham vs Liverpool | 29.12.2024 | Predictions & Match Thread
Agree with starting Fullkrug and including Alvarez and Paqueta in midfield. But a five-man defence and our fastest right-sided player out of position on the left? No sorry, that’s just defeatism.
I’d take Cresswell out of that line-up, put Summerville in on the left and have Kudus on the right behind Bowen in a three-man midfield where his efforts and skills can be deployed to our best advantage.
Come on, we’re demoralised enough - five at the back is just rolling over and dying at home.
Please post that team up - I fancy a good laugh.

If we are to have half a chance of getting a result with so many walking wounded and suspended, I'm still hoping we can patch up 1 or 2 so we can try and compete..
Areola
Wan-Bissaka Todibo Kilman Emerson
Soler Alvarez Paqueta
Kudus Bowen Summerville
That's the Team I'd like to see if possible but even if he must start Fullkrug, then replace him up top with Bowen back on the right with Kudus on the bench.
Big call to Paqueta to turn in a quality performance not seen since Newcastle away. He fucking owes us.....

Narrow 2-1 West Ham win, it’s the West Ham way. Actually forget that, 0-4 with Salah running Emerson or Cresswell ragged

I want to see this Lopetegui against those Scouse cunts giving it to them like he gave it to Klopp. He got his Wolves Team to perform well everytime they faced Liverpool and want to see him be just as brave against them tomorrow..

As if we are not disadvantaged enough! Anthony Taylor is tomorrow's ref. And guess where he comes from?
Fuck off that useless big Club biased cսnt is reffing our game so soon after that Arsenal shambles. That's us done then..
BRING BACK COOTES
Re: West Ham vs Liverpool | 29.12.2024 | Predictions & Match Thread
Don’t know why the Greek hasn’t been played more at right back. He does well there.
Definitely wouldn’t start Paqueta for this. This Liverpool team will be punishing us for any careless loss of possession and considering we will spend most the game on the back foot he won’t have too many opportunities for his creative play for us to miss that side of his game.
Best we can hope for is they get complacent for this one, but clutching at straws with that one.
I think we have improved enough to stave off the sort of pastings Arsenals have dished out, so 0-3.
I actually think it's the sort of game where we need Paqueta, as anything we create is likely to be from a through ball into space behind them, and he's the best in the squad at that..
I'm reconsidering my team, and debating benching Füllkrug and going with Bowen central, Kudus right and Summerville left.
We're likely to get any joy we get on the counter, so maximising pace in the forward line to exploit space in behind probably makes the most sense.

I like the look of that, with five defenders I’d swap Kudus for Alvarez and play Summerville left attack but otherwise it’s our best chance of a)keeping Liverpool at bat and b) having opportunities on the counter.
That said, if I’m honest I think we’re going to lose no matter what, we could play 13 players here and not win. Very happy to be proved wrong and won’t be dishing out any ‘told-you-so’ afterwards.
If I can see that Lopetegui has made an effort with his tactical approach I’ll give him a free hit on this one.
