Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Maupay scored 4 times against us at the LS. What's the betting that if we signed him (and I hope to god we do not) that he would 't score as many goals FOR us there in the entire time he stayed with us?

I remember working with a Brummie called Alex he was a good lad and a bluenose.

He said to me at the time GSB bought the club...

"You may not realise it at the moment but the day will come when you despise their guts with a bitterness that you never thought existed"

I'm starting to think that young man was wise beyond his years.

I see Marseille are immediately trying to sell Neal Maupay after they had to buy him from Everton and some Premier League clubs are interested.

Right up our street, I reckon.
(this isn't me suggesting we buy him)

Yup, the buck stops with Sullivan. He's the one who has to give the 'ok' to every transfer. And we really mean the ok. He's not like other owners who just write the cheques and don't throw their two penneth in. He won't sign a player he doesn't fancy, so every single player in has been ratified as a 'good' player by Sullivan, just like every player he's torpedoed a deal for or outright turned down is a player he's not rated sometimes in favour of what his 'mates' are telling him to do. He's the ultimate judge of what is talent at WHU and nothing doesn't go through him. He agreed that Kilman was worth 40 million and over 100k a week. He's the one who threw away money on Ings.

It's his judgement or lack of that has brought us to this point. This is 'his' west ham squad. Not that of Moyes or Lop or Stiedten or Potter. They've only been allowed to sign who he wanted them to, and were not allowed to sign anyone they wanted he didn't want them to, despite his protestations of being a vulnerable and benevolent old man led down the garden path by a poor or unscrupulous actor when a player hasn't worked out well, and his self aggrandising and backslapping as a genius when one has. This mess is 100% on him. Yes he can take credit for AWB, but for every AWB there are five Ings' and Kilmans.

We will only get out of this horrible mess when he butts out once and for all and lets his employees get on with what he pays them for unencumbered, or is no longer in charge. Yes Lop would still have signed Kilman, but we'd never have had Lop in the first place.

Doesn't stop everyone wanking themselves dry over 'Trent', however he's been fortunate enough to play in club teams where he rarely needs to defend much almost all of his career

I said at the end of the season that we'd be relegation candidates as things stand.

Nothing has changed since then.  No one has yet to come in and the squad has arguably got worse.

The only thing I have to pin my hopes onto, is other supporters blind loyalty of Potter.  That's it.

Without trying to sound dramatic.... West Harm are now primed to get relegated. We have blindly and naively sailed into the perfect storm. As I have said before, Sullivan's legacy will be completed at the end of this season when we go down. To me, it's not even in doubt. Not if, but when. If you are a gambler, get your rent money on us as we are literally like ready to go. It's all built up to this moment and Sullivan and Brady will be lynched hopefully.

Yep, incredibly stupid understates what a fucking cretin the man is, the list above shows that of the 19 players who are either leaving or confirmed gone arguably 13 or 14 are first team or around it.

Whole new level of business genius to have allowed us to get where we’ve got so quickly, and with multiple opportunities to address the issues.

If we're close to out PSR limit, then that suggests we're not tight with spending the money.

It suggests Sullivan is incredibly stupid at spending the money, considering where we are in the league and the value of our squad.

No one else would have spent £40m on Kilman and given him the contact he has.

Correct Goose, but who is it that appoints the people that are sanctioned to piss it up the wall, Sullivan overseeing transfer business will see at least the same amount of piss going up the wall albeit he won’t be able to piss it so high. But it can be more guaranteed to go all over his boots.

you cant criticise Sullivan for not spending on the squad, but you can criticise how that money has been spent.
Sullivan isn’t spending his own money though, it’s the clubs money which is a whole different thing.
of course, but i wouldn't expect him to throw his own money down the drain on transfer fees.
"the club" has had a more than adequate transfer budget which they've done a brilliant job of pissing up the wall.

Saw highlights of him. Was confused when they said he was a defender as all highlights are of him attacking! Having said that, if we are playing a back 3 it could work!

Now we're selling our best players to replace them with unproven youngsters because some clubs like Brighton and Brentford did well doing just that.

The real reason we can't compete with other clubs is because Sullivan is a cheapskate clueless wanker that imposes his ego led authority on employees that shrug their shoulders and count their wage packets every month.....

This X 100 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

He is pissing in the dark when identifying those unproven youngsters because the cheapskate thinks he can wing it without a credible scouting database which might cost at least a couple of million a season to run but then save him that sum many times over when he inevitably buys an unsuitable player for £30-40 million and then has to sell him for half or less a couple of years later.

It's like the flawed 80's economics of Peter Swales at Man City or Ken Bates at Chelsea - the bloke is a fucking dinosaur and weirdo to boot - not in the genius sense of the word either 🤷🏻

Obviously if someone pays the buyout we have no choice but to see Kudus leave
The fact that we appear to be hawking him around for less shows the utter shambles of the club under Sullivan
The club isn’t progressing til he goes and in the meantime we are being lapped by the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham & Crystal Palace.

I know we're yet to see it, but I keep being told our coach is great at coaching the players he's got.  I'm sure 99% of coaches would love to have Kudus in their squad.
Issue is, other than his questionable temperament he apparently wants out anyway with the help of getting new Agents. If he's that keen to leave, then best to get in good money for him and bring someone in who does really want to be here.
Can't really blame him, what top player would want to be here, I don't even want to be here it's a fucking shit show.
Agreed!
