"As far as I'm concerned it would be crazy for a board of directors to appoint an experienced Technical Director and not let him Direct technically. Our board have made stupid decisions for as long as I can remember but, are they so stupid that they make a decision to appoint Steidten and the new German analyst while re-appointing an old fashioned manager that can over rule which players get signed? I guess the answer might be Sullivan would! I have no doubt that Moyes might be offered a job but he can't keep the final say on player signings. That would be stupidity beyond apprehension. Steidten would certainly be off if he gets an offer that gives him authority to do the job. I wonder if Karen Brady has told Moyes yet?"

"I am one of those who simlly thinks Moyes cannot take us further. He has done a decent job and statistically no one can argue he's been relatively successful because West Ham have not been succesful for best part of 50 years. Its ""business not personal""ù although my take is that Moyes is not an honest man. If he was you might have some more empathy. He has an enormous ego typically bourne out of insecurity and inadequacy but in the world of football he is hardly alone. :-) I just want to see this progress he has been part of since the COVID season not be temporary but a permanent step up. Yes its a risk if you make a change but with Steidten showing he can solve one of our biggest historical failings ( recruitment ) we need a coach who will develop players and a system if play or identity to make the most of the players the Tech Director or DOF brings in. Moyes is not that man. The evidence is pointing in the opposite direction. Moyes wants a different type of player and his methods, while effective, do not align with plYers Steidten and team are identifying. Pace and strength, technically sound and comfortable in possession. Moyes has never seen pace and technical ability as priorities or has failed to secure those attributes in most the players he identifies or recruits or recommends. That points to his inability to evolve from his tried and trusted methods or ""Moyesball""ù as we like to call it. Fine when you are trying to establish yourself in the top flight and / or survive with a squad on a budget etc but not one that needs to qualify for Europe each season. If, as expected, we fail to qualify for Europe he has to go. We risk losing Paqueta, Bowen, Kudus and Alvarez and maybe one or two more. If he does get us in Europe, its harder to argue against him being renewed other than tye entertainment value. Many of us think that is important especially and understandably those who pay thousands to go but I could understand why he might extend his stay. In a nutshell, and as mentioned, nothing personal but if we dont make Europe he simply has to be replaced because everyone says thats the measure of his success last 3 years. Not making the Europa or conference means equally that he has failed."

Bloody hell! The official site has put out a PR video with Moyes trying to show his human side! I couldn't stand more than 1 minute of the transparent attempt to make him look acceptable!

I wasn't criticising Claret & Booze Fraser. I was saying their opinion gave me fresh hope that it was always intended by the other board shareholders to make football matters less reliant on 75 year old Sullivan. There are some big investors like Kretinsky and the septic on the board at WHU that know how a company should be run and that means less decisions on Sullivan's whims.

To be fair to C&B they always state its either what they've been told so up to anyone if they believe it or say its just their opinion like most of us on here. You'd have to be pretty stupid to take it any other way

I have thought for a while that Noble and Steidten's appointments were part of a project to remove responsibility for football matters to professionals should anything happen to Sullivan who is 75 years old. The Osman debacle which has Sullivan's dirty mits all over it and the supposed renewal of Moyes contract shattered that opinion for a few days. Renewing Moyes contract would pull the rug from under Steidten's feet so the suggestion by Claret & Booze that the new contract will be for a Head Coach and not Manager. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDVZ5Pqid1k) Now I have hope that the project is alive again after the contract negotiations have apparently been delayed. Moyes will only be offered a Head Coach role and not a managerial role otherwise the likes of Steidten and Noble having to answer to Moyes's whims for tactics and player buys kill the chance for WH to move into a new era of management.

Fraser. I don't try and monities my bullshit. And expect everyone to swallow it. Then get out of my pram when people don't. (Maybe I'm doing something wrong.?)

"So it seems that Sullivan is letting his media chums know that they have slowed down on the contract negotiations with Moyes. Sullivan is a devious bastard and would never say that he's had so many people tell him that he's making a mistake over Moyes new contract that he's worried about it coming back to bite him. Spreading rumours that Moyes might leave is probably done to worry us all that we will be manager-less. I'd say that's a vast improvement letting Noble, Steidten and the coaches take over for a while to be honest..."

Hes also in cloud cuckoo land, dreaming that shit up, as if Moyes is going to quit because few fans are vocal are wanting him out. This BTW is worth a watch when it comes to deluded vlogger and youtubers!!!! Well it made me laugh, only 2 mins but could be applied to any club i reckon. Chelsea influencer morphs from loving Poch to hating him......LOL https://twitter.com/ProudN17/status/1754850218200211929?s=19"

"I've just watched that and he didn't say he was about to quit. He asked that if Moyes heard that he wasn't getting a new contract if anyone thinks he would walk and said he thinks it's possible himself, just an opinion. Interesting that Tim Steidten has claimed the credit for Alvarez. I think he should be our captain personally."

"I see the YouTube channel Claret and Booze is running a vid saying Moyes is about to quit? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDVZ5Pqid1k They are also having a big pop at Sullivan, but they always do! Of all the YouTube channels i will take this story with a pinch of salt, having watched few of these channels, C&B is one of the less reliable. Could all be just click bait as well, but who fucking knows?"

"Sullivan as everyone suggests is likely still the root of all our problems in terms of progress We don't need a manager, we need a coach to develop players and the clubs teams to implement a way of playing or philosophy for the long term Sullivan needs to let his Director of Football do his job and have nothjhg to do with any football decision. Steidten needs to replace Moyes Until that happens we're stuck in limbo"

I read on BBC Gossip this morning that Chelsea players are complaining about Pochetino's training methods being outdated! I wonder what our internationals think of dinosaur Moyes methods?
