Maybe this is the end game and everyone else on the board are simply waiting for him to hang himself by his own petard...

I don't even blame his sons...I'm sure they have a far better idea of transfer policy and how to sign players than their father but they ain't the principal shareholder. 🙄

Gold was 86 when he finally popped his clogs, Sullivan's 76. I reckon we've got at least another 10 years of him running the Club, probably more like 15 years knowing our luck.

Once more I am bemused by the ownership and their acolytes bollocks around transfers. Whetstone, under an "Exclusive: Sell on clause revealed" comes up with some fascinating maths around Sunderland's sale of Pierre Akwah.
We bought him for an undisclosed fee from Chelsea in 2021 and sold him on in January 2023, again undisclosed. He had a four and a half year deal.
What is in the public domain is the current deal, Sunderland to Saint- Etienne is around £5.14m so, at 35% around £1.785m would come to West Ham.
Whetstone maintains that Chelsea are due 35% of this sell on.
Why?
Do Chelsea have a twice removed sell on clause?
Surely they are only due the proceeds of the sale from us to Sunderland. Whilst this was undisclosed, was it also, coincidently £5.14m?
As the sale was in January 2023 surely we will have paid, if not all of Chelsea's 35% certainly 2 years out of the 4.5 year deal if the payments were spread (as they often are) would have been paid off by now.
Would this not reduce the amount due to Chelsea on final reckoning of the deal?
Whilst this is a relatively trivial sum and Whetstone's maths only lower expectations to around £1.17m net (in transfer fund terms £877,500 allowing 75% of sales proceeds as broadcast by this mouthpiece earlier) The reality is the numbers and principles do not appear to have much integrity.
I was a bit surprised the Whetstone did not go the whole hog and say that the entire 35% passed through our hands to Chelsea and have done with it, perpetuating the "we are skint" narrative.
A world Class board with World Class communication outlets taking us for a bunch of World Class Berks.
The circus needs to leave town.

Your theory is that Sullivan is attempting to show how valuable his stewardship of transfers has been?

I struggle to see how anyone could look at West Ham’s dreadful transfer record since he got involved and reach the conclusion that what is needed to get out of this mess is more of the same. Repeatedly paying over the odds for established players who flop and eventually sold at a loss. Aside from Rice the profit made from player sales over the years is one of the worst of any established Premier League club. He has overseen the assembly at not inconsiderable cost of an old, slow squad on a piecemeal basis without even the hint of a longer term strategy.

that'd be believable if he hadn't stuck by a certain manager that consistently depreciated the value of his players (rice, and bowen being rare anomalies). that little cսnt wants full control of everything. I follow other sports, in particular american, and the best club/franchise owners hire extremely professional people to do the front office jobs, and stay the fuck out of the way. we have the reverse scenario

I heard a couple of years ago that Sullivan was outvoted by Kretinsky, the Gold family and the main minority shareholders to put a DOF in charge of transfers.

This was apparently 'sold' to Sullivan as the modern way forward if they were ever to be able to sell their shareholdings when a future billionaire opportunity occurs because new owners would want to see a systematic recruitment policy in place.

Sullivan didn't like it but had to accept it gracefully so, he kept some responsibilities. That became apparent when it was admitted that Steidten did the deals but was overruled on the choice of manager and some of the proposed player deals. Sullivan kept a tight control of money but eventually Steidten became portrayed as the bad boy of course. Was he so bad though?.

What we are seeing now is IMO, Sullivan reminding the board what happens when he gets replaced. The constant reminders that we're skint are not just messages for fans. They also remind the directors what happens when he is taken off transfers as he no doubt forecast.... .

The world is full of murderers, rapists and nonces and yet whenever any of these pass away it makes not one difference to my life, but when Sullivan finally pegs it I’m genuinely going to celebrate
it’s a terrible thing to admit to
but the fact is, this odious little cսnt goes out of his way to ruin something I love in order to line his own pockets
he’s by no means the worst human being on the planet by a long way, but in terms of my life, he’s the fucking devil

Understand that unlike the pitiful Premier league UEFA will take selling hotels & the women’s team OUT of Chelsea’s figures which should jeopardise their Champions League status
That sounds like an open & shut case which should result in an immediate decision but there seems to be no movement
Like when Boehly during his due diligence on purchase flagged that they had discovered that payments have been made off the books by the previous regime to avoid FFP sanctions
Another open & shut case kicked into the long grass

If we really are 'skint'....who is that on. Certainly nothing to do with the fans. Only two people are responsible for that financial day to day running of the Club, and if the position is that the Club's management have engineered a position of near destitution, well they should be answerable.

Sullivan and Brady. Two self-proclaimed business geniuses. Taking notable sums out of the Club and leaving us potless if you believe their spin. Well where has the money gone? We've got sizeable revenues, tiny stadium and match day running costs, the 2nd highest attendance in the league and all the trappings if a Premier League club for over ten years, plus the recent history sale of a home grown player for 100m+!

If we have no money that is totally on Sullivan, Brady and their inept management for the Club. They should fuck off, and fuck off immediately. The position they've engineered should be seen as a colossal fucking embarrassment TO THEM. It's pure evidence that they have not a fucking clue what they're doing.

No forward planning. No squad management. We've got 'collectively' the ~4th wealthiest board in the whole league.

It's a shambles, and it's squarely on the door of those two parasites.

Like with most things Chelsea are allowed to get away with financially, aint they put a stop to that in future only AFTER Chelsea get away with it first?

The game is bent and geared towards those with all the money.

If Chelsea’s women’s team is worth £200m then ours must be worth north of £100m.

PSR is definitely a convenient smokescreen for the Board to hide behind. It suits them as they can argue it is an external constraint to hide behind claiming that their hands are tied. I think you can forget all about PSR in the future now that Chelsea have driven a coach and horses through the rules by selling their women’s team to themselves. Expect others (Villa) to follow suit this year.

The real issue is cash flow which can be fixed by a capital injection form the owners. Board investment at West Ham over the last 5 years is streets behind competitor clubs like Villa and Newcastle and illustrates the true level of ambition of the owners.

The club has no strategy other than muddling along from year to year in the hope of preserving Premier League. There is no vision and no-one capable of making football decisions that recognise the changing nature of the big money game. Unless you have regular Champions League football the only hope of mounting a challenge is to top up revenues with profit on player sales. Apart from Rice, the record on player sales is a pitiful reflection of Sullivan’s ludicrous approach to player recruitment.

We definitely aint skint, it's all part of the spin bollocks BS typically come up with. Like you say, we should be able to operate in the market with leeway in PSR before sales even have to happen, it's just part of a convenient smokescreen for BS to hide behind why they can't spend much. We shouldn't be scratching around looking for players on scraps and freebies.

The club pleading poverty once again, fucking sickening, think how impoverished we’d be if we actually had to pay to upgrade or rebuild our stadium like every other club has to. Only our leeching cսnt owners could make us skint after the fucking deal they were given. They should be made to feel very nervous at every opportunity, the useless cunts should be exposed by the media and by the fans. Unfortunately the current customers at our stadium don’t have an ounce of the passion or pride we shared at UP so they’ll keep getting away with it. Can’t wait for the uprising, hopefully it’s not too late.

Have seen all these social media posts of where each club sits in relation to how much FFP leeway they have
Chelsea seem to have the biggest amount & we were shown as having around £93m
Im guessing that means the amount of allowable losses up your sleeve
Maybe I’m wrong but reckon with the 4 players released we are knocking £300k to £400k off our weekly wages plus more with Antonio
Plus any purchases would see 20% of the cost written off each year
Yet we are being told we can’t buy without selling by the chief bullshitter Sullivan
The club is going nowhere (except maybe to the Championship) until he goes

Yep, he was on a hiding to nothing left hung out to dry with the incoming dross he had to work with. Just look at the shit he was given that season amd the age some of them were like Arbeloa, Fonte..

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2 ... .C._season

How he got us to mid table in the first season in that Hell hole mess of a Stadium was almost a better achievement than the previous season.
