Re: Moyes Out
"what's bizarre is how smug he continues to be with the press, it's almost psychotic behaviour"
Re: Moyes Out
ATM. Great points. This brilliant analogy and description of the times under Moyes should be conveyed to Moyes himself plus sent to the board. Could you imagine the likes of joyo or two ever writing anything close to that in defence of Moyes. Where was the risk of bringing on Scarles for 20 minutes? We lost 2 points anyway. Cornet coming on for 3 minutes is quite appalling management. Does Moyes do this in training ? Have Cornet watch for 30 minutes then come on for the last 3 minutes of training whilst the youth just watching still. I despise this cretin of a football manager.
Re: Moyes Out
"Just a thought, last season, although the style was not that too dissimilar to this season, because Moyes had Rice as his main defensive midfielder he felt quite happy, but as obviously Rice has moved on then Moyes is now basically shitting himself so feels that he needs to play very defensively."

Re: Moyes Out
"NYC Hammer , 2 colleagues at work today , one Villa ,one Leeds made their business to let me know they couldn't believe how rubbish we were last night. First game they watched West Ham this season. Told them this is standard fare . The brown nosing media will never call it though ."
Re: Moyes Out
Let's not forget that the Europa Conference was only started in 2020! Most of our managers also never had the financial backing Moyes has largely wasted.
Re: Moyes Out
nychammer 5:59 Fri Feb 2 Re: Moyes Out Lyall and Greenwood are both ahead of him in trophies won then Moyes with the Europa Conference League trophy....after that only Redknapp with the Inter Two bob Cup comes close... stats don't lie I suppose
Re: Moyes Out
"I find it hard to understand how anyone with an ounce of self respect can accept that their professional input is regularly described as ""garbage""; ""dross""; ""turgid""; ""dour""; ""disgraceful"" but are not moved to do anything about it. I do not understand how that all of Haller; Scamacca: Anderson; Vlasic; Benrahma; Fornals; Cornet; Ings are considerably lesser players now then when they came to West Ham without someone, somewhere in the hierarchy asking why so few skill players remain skill players after they have bedded into the current style of play. I fear for Kudus; Paqueta; Aguerd; Ward Prowse and, on last nights showing Phillips although a suspect the most mobile of these will be off. I struggle with why the successful youth team plays an entirely different way to the first team and I do not understand why virtually none of the youth team look like making it into the first team. The Bournemouth Game was Moyes Utopia, 8 outfield defensive players and a goalkeeper. The two forwards isolated with little hope of a telling pass. The simple fact is Moyes cannot manage talent, he doesn't understand it. The left wing position is a ""naughty corner"", a home for right sided central midfield players or, more recently a world class box to box midfield player. Ward Prowse must now be in that position because he has dared to say ""we must play better."" In open play he was made to look no better than Benrahma or Fornals who have been banished there in the past. There can be no excuse for the shit show performances against Sheffield; Burnley; Nottingham Forrest; Bournemouth; Bristol City; Brighton or Liverpool in the cup. Those that hold up ""three seasons in Europe and highest consistent league positions"" as reasons to believe need to look under the skin. The cup we won in Europe we were only in because the club failed to invest the previous year when we were in the Europa League and ran out of steam. Deja Vu on the investment front. Yes, the main architect of most angst is Sullivan. He will point to the fact that the dreary managers have been successful for the club, Alardyce got us into and maintained stability in the Premier League. Moyes has delivered league and European ""security of tenure"". But, Moyes has more ability at his disposal, and has had more ability at his disposal than most managers outside the top 6. The fact that he appears to take pride in serving up ""garbage""; ""dross""; ""turgid""; ""dour""; ""disgraceful"" football and is allowed to continue doing so is shameful."

Re: Moyes Out
Warburton leaving in the summer should've told you everything you need to know. He was banging his head against a brick wall trying to change our style. If you watch most other premier league sides - it's like they're playing a completely different sport. Once points start mirroring performance - we will slide down the table. It's not far from happening
Re: Moyes Out
"Lato - but that's the fucking rub with this situation isnt it!!. On paper he IS probably one of, if not THE most successful managers in living memory. He plays piss poor football and gets success with it, that's why to someone who does not watch or support us, sacking Moyes seems incredulous. But, for most of us fans who have to endure week in and out, the football is so poor now that it eclipses the results and we cant wait to see the back of him. A win last night would have left a sour taste in the mouth let alone an ill deserved point, and yes I know that sounds ungrateful and is a sad thing to have to say."

Things have got so bad for me I doubt I'll even watch the Man Utd game. It's just not worth it.

Re: Moyes Out
"Perhaps Moyes is doing it deliberately, to angle for a lucrative redundancy payoff instead of walking away with nothing at the end of the season."
Re: Moyes Out
Paqueta not available at OT so expect much of the same on Sunday. If Areola doesnt have a blinder it shiyld he all over by HT which will at least allow many of us to do something more productive like clearing out sock drawers etc Soucek first name on the teamsheet but his position decided only after working out the other 10 who will play alongside his Tommy. Ings might start this time and I suspect Phillips or Alvarez on the bench
Re: Moyes Out
"I've been on and either side of the fence on this, but I was so disgusted by yesterday's showing that I now think we have to act in the summer. To play (sorry surrender) like that against a side battling relegation at Home in front of your home supporters is a fucking disgrace. Yes we have one or two injuries but come the fuck on Moyes. Yes it will be a big risk and many will be questioning it if we manage to squeeze into Europe, but if yesterday was a glimpse of life without Paqueta (and possibly Kudus the longer this goes on) then that s very unlikely and he has to go. Good thing we're not hoofing yet more money on this 'project', we just have to hope we can see the season out best we can and start again,."
Re: Moyes Out
"i'm hoping the lack of investment in Jan was because they know Moyes will be gone in the summer and don't want to waste money. but that would probably give Sullivan to much credit, i have a feeling yesterday was more like incompetence. last nights team selection and tactics were exactly the type of shit i expected Moyes to serve up, and continue to serve up until the summer."

Re: Moyes Out
Moyes loves a square leg in a round hole. The players suffer as a result. Media laud him as some footballing god. Extremely frustrating watching these kind of performances. We were fully packed with Cms last night. All of them looked uncomfortable and not totally sure what job was whose job to do. In turn it gave us nothing going forward just relying on brilliance from Kudus. Blokes an utter bellend.

Re: Moyes Out
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc9DEmQwW-c Great analysis of us under Moyes. Perfectly describes the conundrum we have here. If your not a fan you dont understand how mental it is to have a team seemingly play ant- football tactics on purpose and it mostly working. But having to actually watch it and ""enjoy"" it because it sort of works is just a bit mental. And it feels unsustainable. I think we get away with it because no other team sets up like us in the league. And so it's hard to get used to playing against us. But if we dont have exceptional talents like kudus, Paq or Bowen, it won't work. We are always a few injuries away from dropping like a stone. as its a style no one else plays, not even our u21's, its not like you can create players to fit in it or get youth to step up. The video points out that we get stuck against lesser teams which is probably why we cant break that top 6 ceiling. I dunno anymore. it's all hard to watch."
Re: Moyes Out
Slow predictable and boring. This is not the West Ham way that I was brought up on. Sure we lost a lot and shipped goals but it least we scored a few. Last night we only looked like we would score from a penalty and fortunately we did. Taxi.... for David!
Re: Moyes Out
"At least with Alladyce the ball was in the final third longer but not pretty to watch. What we have been served up for over 2 years now is worse, something I never thought I would say."
Re: Moyes Out
"I put this on teh match thread but should have put it on here... I'm not going to add to what has already been said especially by Russ and Sir Alf. What I will add is that all the problems start at the very top. Until he is no longer the major shareholder we will lurch from one crisis to the next as we have done since he arrived... I suspect that's because he manages not for the long term but, the instant needs only he sees at that moment in time. Lots of you won't understand what I am saying unless you've ever worked for someone like that..."
