So it looks like Brighton are now open to selling Ferguson in this window not just a straight forward loan as mentioned previously. Probably rules us out.
The price mentioned for Brobbey was €30m plus another €5m in ‘realistic’ add ons I believe.

It's hardly only us is it ffs, nothing rarely happens in Jan, think only City have bought this window, maybe Villa one player. I'd scrap the Jan window, or just make it a week, it's a distraction for a whole month. Still fancy we will bring in a forward it but it won't be until Monday. Feel free to rant away in the interim.

Why do we always leave it so late in the window? Pisses me off as it’s blindingly obvious we need a striker and other recruits, granted we changed manager but fuck me we do this every January.

pointless even looking to see if we have signed or even got a loan in before the last day or 2.

Fuck off Sullivan and the board it ain’t good enough 🤬

If Sullivan is blocking Mr brobby, he's gone right up in my estimation. We've had no striker for donkeys years, what's another 5 months. CB yes, we're pretty desperate and should sign anyone. Maybe hold a 'recruitment event' and see who turns up . . .

Surely Ferguson would pick Leverkusen over us?

Rumour is that Sullivan is the biggest stumbling block ( surprise surprise ). Adding in clauses to the loan deal for the 16 or so games left this season? Ajax essentially offering the player as a “play now, buy later” deal ( hence obligation or commitment to buy ) that Sullivan doesnt like. Potter likes the player even though his performance numbers have slipped this season as he holds it up so well. He was a £40 mill player a year or so back allegedly? You have to question why Ajax are happy to let him go? That said, they sell a lot of players as their academy churns out replacements year after year.   He is not the huge injury risk that Ferguson is?

Hard to know what the truth is but if Potter is keen and as usual its Sullivan doing what Sullivan does, you can bet this bloke will be another missed opportunity.

Salthouse or Silkman broker a deal for Silva or old has been like Wilson on Monday no doubt. 😩

Do we know what the asking price is for Brobby?
If it's circa £25m I'd take the gamble.

Our squad has plenty of players who had no premier league experience, and they've all served us pretty well.

We badly need a centre forward,  would take Ferguson if he's available on loan.

Brobbey is 22 and has played 143 times scoring 57 times.
Ferguson is 20 and has played 62 games scoring 13 goals.

Depends on the structure of the deal, but I think Brobbey style of play suits us more.

I'd be getting neither without an option to buy.  I can't see any point.

You're nuts.
Who says the Ferguson loan would include an option? It doesn't do Brighton any favours so why would they, unless the option fee is well above how much he's worth? It's not like they'd be lacking suitors if he does well on loan. And if he doesn't then the option wouldn't be taken up anyway.

I'd also prefer Brobbey to Ferguson, too many injuries.

Irish radio just reported that Bayer Leverkusen are the favourites to sign Ferguson on loan. No sources quoted.

Nah, we wont and shouldn’t do an obligation to biy on a Jan loan imo especially for players who have not played in the faster and more physical Premiership.

We desperately need “legs” in that central midfield though and have done since Rice buggered off. If we get someone in this window thats the position I think is a biggest priority. Opinions and all that

If its Ferguson or Mr Brobby I think i'd go with Mr Brobby.

He just seems a better fit to our system, and with fewer injury problems.

Tuttomercatoweb’s Marco Conterio reports on West Ham being keen on Juventus’ Nicolo Fagioli. The report states that the London club ‘have made enquiries’ for the midfielder, with Marseille having done the same. Borussia Dortmund are also interested and so are Napoli. Some encouragement has been handed to West Ham and the other suitors, with the outlet claiming that Juve would be happy to accept an initial loan deal with the obligation of a permanent transfer. So far, all the offers on the table promise an option to buy. That idea does not tempt the Old Lady but things could change in the last few days of the January transfer window.

L'EQUIPE

West Ham are hoping to reach a pre-contractual agreement with Lille midfielder Angel Gomes so he can join the club on July 1st.

Decent player if we can get him and for a Free too.

What I'd like to see happen is something like Ferguson arriving on loan with an option to buy. Then if he can prove he can score a few goals showing promise and being available to play in most of the games remaining then to look to signing him permanently. That way we'll have time to assess his health and then possibly offer Brighton a much more reasonable price for him to stay in the Summer. If he rocks up and performs out of his skin then the price will be likely very high which could be too risky for us to agree to. That's the ideal scenario for me if he shows enough promise should he arrive. And if he fails to deliver in performance and/or availability then send him back and on to the next, no major harm done.

Ferguson will most likely turn up and have a blinding run of form.

We pay silly money for him then his kneecap or similar will melt whilst on his summer holiday never to be seen again.

I wouldn't mind Ferguson on loan, providing he's fit enough to play for the rest of the season. If he's not, it would just be another wasted opportunity to improve the squad.
Not sure I would want to sign him on a permanent due to his previous injury record and glass ankles.

I'm well onboard with Ferguson if it's an OPTION to buy him in the summer.

It sounds like it will be Ferguson as the forward on loan.  Injured so perfect fit 😩
