"No one seems to want answer which game we should have rested players for to play in this one - or just played the first team in all of them? And is Moyes the first manager not to make the league cup a priority? I think it should have been a higher priority, but I can at least see what he was trying to do."

"Can you not read goose? Criticism of performances, style of football and results is one thing - claiming that he's a terrible man-manager after man managing top division sides for nearly a quarter of a century, with better results than all but a handful of the very best managers is ridiculous - especially when you then compare him to a youth team coach. He's not Alex Ferguson or Pep Guardiola, but comparing him to someone managing at under 18s and 21s is stupid. Maybe they could make the jump but there's a huge jump in the size of the role and the man management skills needed. Sorry for trying to bring some rationality to the conversation."

"It's mindblowing that some are still backing this twat. Last night he proved himself to be a shameless, useless turd who has absolutely no pride in the club and zero connection with the supporters. His decisions, knowing that 6,000 had slogged up to Merseyside, were an insult to those loyal fans. Buy he doesn't give fuck for them. His only ambition is to keep Sullivan happy. We are a big club with huge support that deserves a seriously competent and ambitious leader. I just hope that the core support start showing some serious hostility towards him now. He must go asap"

Criticism is ridiculous? We lost 20 league games last season and we've just been done for 5 in consecutive away games. Both deserve heaps of criticism.

"Do you not think it's a bit silly to compare someone with decades of experience at the top level of the game managing millionaire players with someone who coaches a youth team? This is what I mean by the criticism is ridiculous. You may not think he's the best choice for the future but he is the most successful manager for west ham in terms of games won and he's had some strong seasons in that. And I get that the game was shit but he's not the first manger to put the league cup lower on the list of priorities is he. You might not agree with it, but a lot have made that. The fact that we fall apart when we make a change or two from the first team is worrying if we hit a pitch of injuries. The fact that we play a defensive counter-attacking game that leads to some dull games is what got him sacked before, and may do again."

"YORK Not sure who you are referingg to. My post is based on facts. Steve Potts took the youth team and won the FA Youth Cup and won the league. He's proved this season to be a superb manager who uses his squad faultlessly.Attacking, clever and very mobile team who after being thumped under Mark Robson 3-0 against Arsenal have been undefeated in 3 cup competitions. He's been able to bring in over age players or players that have been sitting on the FIRST XI bench idle then coming to play with his team and scoring and winning. His man management skills are a million miles better than our current twat of a manager. Ideal man to go with Hertinga to see us through the season."

Any manager whose team concedes five goals in consecutive away games has to come on under intense scrutiny. He will of course point to the demanding schedule of 10 games in 33 days injury and illness and how he has to manage fitness and take note if performance stats. He has clearly prioritised the next twovleague games over last night. It is also clear that we need to sign another centre half as a priority and strengthen the squad in terms of upgrading those who are coming in to replace first choices and are clearly not of the level required to compete at the highest level.

"Russ, did he really say this? Not questioning you just, must have missed it, but if he did, it says it all! His comments recently that ""As long as I win enough games to keep the board happy, then that's enough for me."""

"Sir Alf easy one ther. Sack him now put Hertinga and Potts in charge. have them keep the core of 7 and use the knowledge of Potts to use the youth for the remainder of the season. 2 or 3 playing regularly, rotating of course, and the cream will come to the top."

"Swindon Ever the idiot Moyes fan. If we concede 5 against Man Utd,Brighton or Arsenal he'll go. I wouldn't be suprised if we do.lose 1 of them by 5. 3 games in 7 days just played then 3 games in 10 days. He's decided that outside 12 players none are good enough to play in those games they will be knackered. They're knackered now"

"As much as I think he needs to be sacked unless the right man is available now we will have to endure a few more months of frustration. I don't think he's going to be bringing home any cups this time around and tge European adventure is likely over when we exit the Europa as I can't see us qualifying via tge league We won't go down, his time will be seen as decent statistically but we have a DOF now who's job it is to see if he can progress us further than he B league that Moyes has been the master of most of his time in management. That's he teams in the middle who don't really struggle too often with relegation and sometimes give the rich team a bloody nose but end up winning very little. His stock will be high when he leaves and I suspect the S of land job or a freshly promoted but struggling club will come calling. Just got to get thru the next 5 months"

It's hardly unknown for a manger to field a weaker side in the league cup is it. Not sure it would have been better to flier a full-strength side and still have them likely lose and then play Man U and Arsenal. I thought his time should be up in the summer but we've been better than expected.

His weakened team selection was disrespectful to the competition and.the thousands who travelled to support the side. He effectively put out a side that gave us zero chance of winning. I've no doubt he had one eye on the man united game which he regards as more important on a personal basis. No money in the league cup and less for winning it than finishing a place or two higher in the PL but it's domestic silverware none the less and from the fans perspective mightily important.
