"Willtell, the Osman transfer would have no bearing on our current home grown situation as he's only 19 so would not need to be named in the 25 man squad for a couple of years. Callum Marshall's loan also has no bearing for the same reason. We don't have to name 8 home grown players. We just can't exceed 17 foreigners over 21. Generally speaking though, yeah, our lack of home grown players should effect our transfer policy, seeing as 4 or 5 of the 7 you mentioned will probably be out the door come summer."

"Nagel I suspect that the home grown rule comes into view. Cresswell, Ings, Antonio, Johnson, JWP and Bowen are presumably 6 of our needed 8 in the squad. Phillips must be the 7th. I’m not sure what happens now Coventry has gone and Callum Marshall is off to WBA so how will we get to 8 of our 25 needed with more foreign players coming in? Then there’s the prospect of 3 or 4 of the existing home grown players leaving this summer…"

"""Apparently Moyes unhappy with all the bookings Alvarez gets. Hmmm"" Hes got 7 yellow i just looked up, not great but im not sure it warrants him being axed! Emerson incidentally also has 7. this is just a hack making a story out of nothing, time and again Moyes has praised Alverez and said he was missed when he has been out, so all sounds a bit contradictory or horse shit if you ask me"

"If there's a completely idiotic option out there, then Moyes will find it. Nothing would surprise me with this idiot, so him dropping Alvarez is a distinct possibility. Either that or we'll be starting with two defensive midfielders and bloody Soucek. The only silver lining of such stupidity is that he's surely on his fucking bike come the end of the season if he does this."

"If the clubs can't agree on the valuation for Osman then there's a good chance that one or both sides will try to bluff it out and wait until deadline day. And of course, deadline day falls on a day we have a match on, which could mess things up, although maybe Steidten is allowed to sort out these negotiations independently now."

Some journo already posting the unthinkable https://www.westhamzone.com/news/david-moyes-informs-edson-alvarez-hes-being-axed-at-west-ham-united-with-huge-change-on-the-cards/ According to James Nursey ( with a name like that no wonder ) Moyes wants Phillips to replace Alvarez. A wind up to get us to read the article? Worked on me such is my fear of such a scenario. Apparently Moyes unhappy with all the bookings Alvarez gets. Hmmm … sounds like nonsense fortunately :-)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Soucek ends up at CB Sir Alf.

Agreed Marty. We will find out against Bournemouth as Alvarez said he's ready for it and back from injury.

"The Soucek situation has been my obsession for a long long time. I have driven everyone to drink, the Samartans and despair boring in about it. I realise its just a forum for old, fat, balding drunks ( and thats just the women on the site ) but his presence severly inhibits our ability to keep the ball and play through midfield. Its not just him but he is the constant and tye biggest factor. He does do some unselfish covering and marking of space ( the traffic cone analogy ) and provides additiinal aerial ability either end of the pitch and the middle. This has value in some games, against the very best sides who keep possession so well. The low block tactic in other words. But his severe limiitations passing and controlling the ball allied to being very slow far outweigh his strengths imo. He is still a useful squad man but should not be starting a lot of games imo. See Ive just gone and repeated the same old complaints but finally it looks like we have an alternative that can play and one Moyes will use and bench Tommy. Surely even Moyes can see what is blindingly obvious ? Once Paqueta is back, Soucek should start spending a lot more time on the bench. When that happens, we should see hopefully progress in terms of tactics which means variation in approach especially at home."

Signing kalvin Philips allows Moyes to go to a 4 3 3 formation. Which has always been his plan . I just hope he ain't daft enough to drop Alvarez for soucek . That's the issue and it's a fucking big one at that .

"""Fornals lost his way with us, can't ever fault his effort but time for him to move on."" He was so poor last week. No end product. Final ball a giveaway to the opposition when you know Paqueta would find his man in the same situation. Agree his time is up."

It's a real shame that JWP is too slow to be a RB. Would put in some great crosses and enable us to keep him in the side for his set pieces while having someone a bit more dynamic or creative in the centre (not Soucek).

Jwp as a right back keeps Soucek in the starting line up.

"Hmmm... news on our transfers moves ( bids etc ) always very slow at the weekends? You don't think media / journos are just churning out stories for the sake of it, fabrication and speculation? Surely not? They obviously don't work weekends. We can look forward to latest scoops and breaking news between 9 and 5 weekdays only I guess"

"I csnt help thinking that should we not be able to keep hold of Paqueta in the summer, that Kudus moves to a more central playmaker role, Bowen back on the right, and a shiny new striker up top. Havent worked out whats happening left wing yet. Osman?...Soucek? Fuck knows"

"Kudus only started playing regularly as a RW at the beginning of last year. It was actually Heitinga who converted him to RW when he took over as caretaker manager at Ajax in January. He's actually played more games at CF (as a false 9) than at RW, although he's on record as saying that he thinks his best position is in central midfield, which is where he played most of his career before last season."

"Paqueta and kudas move around they don’t tend to stay on the right or left, although they will have defensive duties in one position. Two things, would rather Marshal play with us, will WBA play him? And £15m for a 19 year old don’t send a good message to our academy, is he exceptional?"
