Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"Joe, that does sound interesting. One of my favourite books is partly set around Tierra del Fuego, Patagonia, and the Cape. That is definitely one holiday I will do one day."

"Fair enough, and good points, Will Willtell. My post wasn't aimed solely at you, and certainly wasn't meant to be vindictive or anything."
Re: Woke watch
Nurse Ratched I specifically referred to problems in GB of a woke nature. To then change track to the beauty of Britain is cheating. I don’t have a down on Britain as a tourist spot - just it’s self important culture.

"Nurse. I love travel and enjoy driving so I’m in the ideal job. Just got back from Austria, the scenery up till you get to Munich is pretty spectacular, but…. I had to go Holyhead a few years ago to get a ferry and had loads of time to do it so instead of going the A55 way I went the slower but scenic A5. I’ve seen some beautiful sights over the years but snowdon can hold a candle to just about anything. Booked a cruise for Jan ‘24, South Pole and the Falkland Islands, not cheap but something very different."

Re: Woke watch
"Britain has its share of problems, like any country, but I love living here. I even love the weather - the idea of 6 or more months of searing bright light and heat depresses me. Obviously there are people who prefer a near monoclimate of heat and sun, but we're not all made that way. I'm in a position now where I could afford at least one very good foreign holiday a year. But every time I read an article about somewhere lovely 'abroad', the next thought that pops into my head is something like ""But I've never visited the Northumberland coast"" or ""I haven't done the Pembrokeshire walk I've promised myself for years"". Horses for courses and all that. But notwithstanding this mad existential, self-loathing mind virus many western countries are going through right now, it amazes me when I hear people run this country down. I've heard the argument that travel broadens the mind - so why is it that travel bores are always such terrible company?"

Re: Woke watch
Leonard Hatred You assume too much Len. What gave you the impression I think where I live is interesting? I only corrected ray's witty comment. Plus I've seen a lot of the shit you post...

"Teacher made to apologise for saying 'good afternoon girls' at all-girls school because one child, they, them, it felt unsafe that the teacher didn't use a pronoun! Madness! Do we all still address official letters Dear Sir, Madam, Sirs or do we now have to just put To Whichever It It May Concern?"

Willtell The fact that you live abroad is not as interesting as you seem to think it is
Re: Woke watch
ray winstone We're all different ray and we each see the world differently. I took early retirement after selling my business so I'm an evil capitalist to you. You'll be glad to know that I no longer post on political threads and I no longer vote in UK. You can all fuck it up yourselves without me and I have no intention of ever returning. The great thing about living in Europe is to not follow local politics and I can laugh at the goings on in UK without having to pay UK taxes. for all the lefty shirkers...

"Will, I lived abroad for 20 years, coming 'home' was the best thing I ever did, thankfully, quite a few, blinkered, right wing old farts have moved the other way. I hope the country that accommodates you treats you well and is bereft of any apparent 'wokeness'."
Re: Woke watch
Ah ray. I have always lived abroad since posting on WHO. You’ve never known any difference but getting away from nutty left wingers was one of the attractions of moving abroad….

"I have to say that I'm not at all sorry that I have moved abroad from the news I here these days. A woman school teacher sacked for saying ""good morning girls"" to her all female school class. Discussions on whether LGBT rights are good enough and so on. Protestors disrupting snooker and Grand National. I blame social media where every know nothing wanker in GB feels entitled to tell everyone else how to live their lives but won't be told how to live their own."

"""It just felt like the right time"" So no time in between the distant past and right before yesterday then? NOW is the right time? And why would that be I wonder?"
