"I thought Brentford were poor and apart from the first 10 I'd say we were pretty average, but it was better and much needed, the season is still too early just for it to tail off. I don't see this result as turning a corner, but Everton on Saturday will tell us more."

"Much needed result but my concern it could, given our recent form, be our ""One swallow""* game for the rest of the season; depends on which West Ham turn up against Everton, I guess. * - and I don't mean that in a Grrr manner."

"Pagey 2:00 Tue Feb 27 Agree with you 100%. Good win, some great football, that disintegrated into hanging on by our toenails. I want us to play like we did in the first 15 minutes for 90 minutes. Moyes's comment about the players need to get used to playing in the top half of the table is so typical of his deflective attitude. Happy with the win, but still don't want him managing us next season."

"That tackle from Mav was top quality, got the crowd going. He was fully committed from the moment he started running, looked like a racehorse with that gallop. He looked pretty solid for the whole game, as did Soucek. I’ve been critical of Soucek but he was very effective tonight and unlucky not to score."

"Got to say I think there is a real old fashioned centre back in there with Mav. Still liable to make a ricket but he is really improving and that last ditch tackle was sublime. A real rock. Zouma must be suffering with an injury or something as he just doesn't look comfortable. Ill give Soucek his due he had his best game for ages but that's probably because he was in there box more rather than sitting in front of his own. Kudus better when he turned provider rather than shooting from distance, that's not to say we should discourage that, just not all the time. Bowen fabulous. Never stopped running and deserved the hat trick and Paqueta back with that bit of quality although wish he wouldn't fall over so much. I was most pleased for Emerson though. Most improved player since he came and certainly most consistent this season I think. We had a go, that's all most of us ask I think and that first ten minutes was as good as i've seen us in a longtime, could have had 3 if Tomas had put his sitter in. Don't really blame the sitting back late on on this occasion. Not ideal but they must have been very nervy to get over the line , I know I was!"

"Back from hols so just got in. Will watch the game tomorrow morning. Everytime I predict the worst, and after the last 6 weeks all looked lost, the Moyesiah digs out a result. But perhaps proveswhat we all sort of knew …. Paqueta seems to make a difference ? ;-). On the radio home from airport, Murphy was saying Mavropanos, had Toney in his pocket and behind Bowen was his MOTM. So perhaps Moyes will realise that Steidten is actually a better bet for recruitment and will start playing the greek fella more because dropping him for no reason for Aguerd was both wrong and costly. Anyway, think we are almost officially classed as avoiding relegation. Ok maybe another draw or win. A bit conflicted overall in relation to Moyes status. On one hand always good to win so but only if that contract has “Coach” as the role not manager. Moyes is not the long term answer but he got a result today when he needed it. Need a better coach longer term to progress how we play ( us dominating the play against a lot more teams ) but good to get some goals. If Moyes wins the Europa I will gladly accept him keeping his job. But as coach. Heard that the usually invisibleTommy had a great game and Kudus so will watch the full rerun with peaked interest."

"Just back from the match. Excellent evening's entertainment! If you couldn't enjoy that, then maybe football ain't for you. Lovely goal from Emerson, and The Greek was hugely encouraging. Oh, and Maupay is a horrible cսnt."

"My impressive unbeaten record continues, I might have to go every week. Very good performance attacking wise, still feel very nervous of our defence though, even at 4-1 I was chewing my nails. Zouma was dreadful but Mavropanos was excellent. Alvarez superb, the much maligned Soucek outstanding. JWP virtually non existent, Paqueta was wonderful and he brought out the best in Emerson. Bowen unplayable, Kudus excellent in spells and Antonio dreadful! He was brought on to hold the ball up but was shocking. Great result, good performance….8 out of 10."

Started brilliantly on the front foot and could have been 4-0 at h/t. Gave away a soft goal & were still good and must be the only team that invites pressure at 4-1 ....when we should be running them ragged. Paqueta comes off at 75mins and we revert to sitting back Much better but still some odd play

"""Imagine ‘fans’ wanting their team to lose"" who are you talking about? are you so thick that you can't comprehend why people want him gone as manager? it's because of performances like tonight why he needs to go. the players are capable of much more when allowed to play. the only time he allows them to play is when his fucking job is on the line. he fucking refused to strengthen the squad in january when comfortably in the top seven. divs like you are the problem"

When soucek is not scoring this is the kind of performance I expect from him as a bare minimum.

"A much needed win and a decent enough performance, but Brentford were really poor. Great to see Bowen back among the goals and a beautiful strike by Emerson. It doesn’t change anything regarding Moyes’ position at the club for me. He deserves a lot of credit for what he’s done, but it’s time for everyone to move on. I’m bored with him continually saying that we should be happy with the top half. That’s an extremely poor mentality and highlights why he’s won only one (easier to win) trophy in his career."

"They could have so easily gotten a couple of penalties, especially with the cսnt of a referee and who was on VAR. The first on a barge by Kudus on Reguli??n was down to his old Tottenham tricks of trying to engineer the foul. You could see him looking for the foul just beforehand. The second one on the edge of the area could have gone either way. We still had our second half nap. These players need taking by the scruff of the neck but I have no confidence Moyes is the bloke to do it."

"Shame we can't play a defence like that every week, made ours look superb which was nice considering it was dodgy once again. Some good goals and areola done well which is handy considering how many shots we concede. No doubt normal service resumed on Saturday as I'm going."
