Could go with self defense. You only need to convince the jury that you felt that you or someone else was at risk of harm. They'd have little problem pleading that with a bunch of armed police rushing them.

That the jury have retired to consider their verdict at the conclusion of this very media-friendly incident would be news in itself, going by how it's been reported since it first hit that same media.

7.30pm now and not a squeak from anywhere about the trial or verdict.
