Re: Freddie Potts
He is 21 and hasn’t played a Premier league game
Some might consider that when assessing his level against a 31yo Argentina international in Rodriguez
Obviously has more upside

Re: Freddie Potts
Better than Rice? Are you Vexed in disguise?
Seriously though, young Potts has clearly benefitted from his loan at Pompey and hopefully is still rapidly learning and improving. Too soon to get too excited but I think he has the potential to be better than JWP, Soucek and Rodriguez, so I do expect him to get an increasing number of minutes as the season progresses.

Re: Freddie Potts
If he wasn't a youth player and was a signing, the opinion would be that he lacks ambition in possession and currently offers no more that JWP and Rodriguez.
Needs to massively grow in confidence when on the ball.

Answer no, it wouldn't, but I think you could get pretty long odds on that ever being a starting midfield for a competitive West Ham game so your comparison has no validity.

Re: Freddie Potts
The 26yo Dozzel who has bounced around Championship clubs trying to live down the embarrassment of his Dad playing for Tottenham?
Which Premier league club will HE be playing for this season?
Potts has the opportunity in front of him & has to rise to it
West Ham fans obviously hope he succeeds

Re: Freddie Potts
Don't know why on earth a Spurs fan is watching a West Ham player at Portsmouth????
Re: Freddie Potts
I think we can perhaps agree its too early to be reaching conclusions. At this juncture, he has not looked out of place, provides some quick accurate passing and ability to play on the half turn and look forward, works hard and presses well. All these attributes look, at this early stage, to make him look better than messrs JWP, Soucek and Guido for that No 6 spot at the base of central midfield. For me he’s likely to be in the squad and understudy to Alvarez but regularly coming on at the 60 min mark. He can start cup games etc.

Noble had already impressed in the Championship for us. He also looked good in a few Premier League games the next season, before going to Ipswich on loan. He never went to QPR.
I think this is spot on, from what I saw of him in the championship he looked decent but no more and I never saw the transition to the premier league as a top player. A good squad player yes but not top notch.

Re: Freddie Potts
Why ?
WHU fans ain't fools
Reminds of when Noble went to QPR and came back ready for the first team squad.
Freddie , if anything like his old man, will be a grounded lad...and will know the score.
He's deffo got over that massive hurdle of being amongst the senior squad...
Cheers Pompey
