Pending or proven he's an unsaleable asset WHUDeano. No one's buying him mate

"He’s obviously done something, but surely if he’s been clever he’s just said to someone in person what they’re going to do. How can anyone prove what I said to a random mate I bumped into down the pub a year ago? It’s incredibly obvious that he’s been up to no good, but also impossible to prove I’d imagine. Either way, I guess we need to sell him at soonest opportunity for the most possible money given he’s obviously cheating the bookies while playing for us. At the end of the day the majority of us are probably not above a bit of ducking and diving, we’re either from the east end or our family are…don’t bull shit a bull shitter, he’s as guilty as they come, but hopefully it’s been covered up properly by those involved and we can either keep him for years to come or fuck him off for £50m to Italy"

Last year when n this came to light I was suspicious and thought it was a clever ruse to keep Paqueta for another season. Now I'm not so sure.Surely it cant be true. Theyll ban him like The Brentford striker whose name ive forgotten.

"No one can say with certainty that this type of thing doesn't influence a game or the result. Also how do we know his idiotic booking in the first leg of the Leverkusen game that ruled him out of the 2nd leg wasn't deliberate, and didn't cost us the tie because he was unavailable for the return?"

I think one of the reasons this has got so big is they were doing it in a double with a Brazilian player in Italy

"Fauxstralian 10:24 Thu May 23 Re: Paqueta Charged It's not just betting, though. It's likely to be regarded as spot fixing. Like say a bowler, bowling no balls. It won't affect the outcome of a game, but basically defrauding betting companies."

"So … he got a yellow in 4 matches & people in the know bet on that To play devils advocate … not sent off in any of those games so you could argue didn’t influence results Utterly stupid but worse than people who bet on games including their own when they presumably had inside information on injuries, availability of players etc? Still say if the league is going to bend over for betting sponsors it’s a bit hypocritical to punish players for betting"

Wouldn't surprise me if his extended family were being targeted. That said the most disappointing aspect of all this is we won't be able to mug Man City (or anyone else) for a big old juicy fee.

"Yeah Christ just a little read up didn’t realize how long the ban could be or how serious it’s looking, miles worse than Toney or Tonali so probably at best we’ll be without him for a season. No doubt that’ll draw the pursestrings in a bit for Sullivan"

"On the positive side, should help us keep him. Do the FA actually watch him play? He is forever on the verge of a yellow. I am sure this is nonsense."

"El Scorchio Totally agree with you. He was throwing himself all over the shop in that Brazil game. I commented to my wife (who is Brazilian), he doesn't play like this for us."

"Amazing how they manage to charge the players and smaller teams so quickly for their indescresions. This could be a protacted case if Paqueta decides to go toe to toe with them with a top notch lawyer. (Granted the Bournemouth game did look remarkably suspect). Well, at least he won't be going to City for a while... By the time all this is over he will out of contract and will go where he wants on a free..."

If he is found guilty the ban will be very long indeed.

I blame Moyes. The cսnt! Pacqueta probably knew this was coming which explains his drop in form.

"Alfs 9:00 Totally agree. Gone in a real match. It was such a bizarre performance by him. Seemed determined to be the bad guy and almost goad the ref into taking action. The manager and the rest of the team must have been thinking 'What the fuck? Is he trying to get booked or sent off?' Oh.... If that was the case (as pointed out with the reference to the Bournemouth game) when he was already under investigation, then how fucking stupid or up against the wall is he to still do it? If there was ever a performance that screamed 'trying to get booked intentionally...'"

So if we sell him to Man City for less that 30 mil do they then drop the case?

"anyone else a bit suss on the timing of this? Allegations were announced jut before the January transfer window and the charge comes right after the season has ended before the transfer window opens? Nothin new has come to light, so why wait until now, Are West Ham absolutely massive everywhere they go that they cannot be seen to be selling their most creative player to their arch rivals for the title next year? mmmm"

The FA is usurping the powers of a state prosecutor here. Reckon Paqueta’s lawyers can throw the book at them as long as they can’t come up with anything that will hold water in a proper court of law.

Sullivan already said the club doesn't need to sell pacqueta. This summer as we don't need the money. And were nowhere near the FFP or PSR limit either.
