I remember about 7 - 8 years ago, Lanzini copped a retrospective 2 match ban for simulation. Has anybody else been banned for similar since?

Not excusing him but to single him out when it's all over the place doesn't seem fair.

In my view, cheating and simulation should be reviewed in retrospect and fines and bans handed out.  It's so fucking easy and the only way to do anything about it because even with VAR they don't seem to give a fuck about it.

Pundits and Pro's are just as guilty for rarely calling it out and too often they have even praised players for "using their experience" when going down.

Paqueta will be hated on for a week or two and then everyone will move on until someone else becomes public enemy no.1 and in all instances, no one will do a fucking thing about it.

I think Potter explains it well - basically you make him realise how important he is, that’s the version you get. Moyes saw him as a cog at left wing in a negative system where he seemed to constantly find himself with the ball at left back and end up trying something he shouldn’t in frustration. Under Lopetegui, nobody, not even the head coach himself, knew what the fuck he was trying to do with the entire team. 

 

 

Very much agree. Tell him he’s the man and you want to put him in a position where he can show everyone. As you say he was really stifled by Moyes and Lop whereas GP seems to want to put him in position where he can find space and influence the game.

I'm unsure what it is exactly he's supposed to be doing, and even if he knew he looks distracted anyway. If we're supposed to be valuing possession more than he seems to have not got the memo.

Would it not be worth trying Kudus in the middle just to see if he can at least break a press by carrying the ball out? Or give Irving a try, he looked tidy enough and I doubt he'd give it away as cheaply as Paqueta does.
