Re: Moyes Out
"Is the contract up to the end of the year or the season? If it's the season, we might as well write it off now."
Re: Moyes Out
"Thanks for that Pents Interesting that there is mention of reactivation, would answer a number of questions And we all knw how much the Jock loves a pound note - eg; Brighton meltdown against the players My absolute despising of the bloke grows by the day and would welcome a 'downing of tools' and major press statement flurry from the players He quite simply has to go, by what ever means is the fastest"
Re: Moyes Out
"Pents, yeah, that's why I would have thought it would be public knowledge if his contract had already been extended. Any incoming signings or players renewing contracts would probably want to know where things are at with the manager. If there is some kind of reactivation clause it would most likely be in the final year of the contract anyway, and that could well mean he'd be owed more than just his final year if he was sacked before being given the chance to activate the clause, but personally I can't see how it would be anything but a bargain, however much it was, given what we stand to lose."

Re: Moyes Out
"Nagel, exactly that mate, I am not sure how much a player would know directly but when u have agents and contract negotiations urself, ur allowd to enquire to others contracts, especially ur managers to gauge ur interest in staying...even if ur told unofficially.... But yeah take what I said as u wish, I put validity in it due to previous stuff I been told but really, most of it is already out there üëç"
Re: Moyes Out
"Yeah - perhaps there was an argument with a player, and Moyes has said his contract will keep him around for longer ""so you'd better get used to it""ù. Who knows. There will be a bit of info that then turns into a rumour, then gossip and then you end up with something a long way from the truth. Just want this twat gone. I've felt the same since January 2022."

Re: Moyes Out
"Can we sue the club for having to watch the dross served up by Moyes every week. The use of words in marketing such as exciting, are surely wrong under the trade discription act."
Re: Moyes Out
"With all due respect to Pentonville, if his source is the mate of a player, he's not going to know the ins and outs of the manager's contract. In any case, if an extension had already been triggered it would likely have been made public knowledge."
Re: Moyes Out
Moyes should be released purely on playing Fabianski and Soucek in the starting 11 every game!
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes could still sue for unfair dismissal even if we paid off his final year, but there's a specific limit to that compensatory award of about £85k so it's peanuts really. Antonio Conte sued for this even after he'd already won another legal battle for £9m compensation after getting sacked by Chelsea. Conte got sacked 5 years ago, during pre-season, despite having won the FA cup in May, with a year left on his contract, apparently for alienating the players and a breakdown in communication with club directors. Sounds pretty familiar, no? Chelsea fucked up by saying Conte himself had breached his contract, and they ended up paying a lot more than if they'd just paid up his final year right away. Getting rid of Conte and his staff ended up costing them about £27m with all the legal fees included."

Re: Moyes Out
Can't imagine how West Ham would be exposed beyond the remaining value of his contract in any circumstances. If he has a clause in his contract to the effect that he has full control of transfers then he could claim for constructive dismissal even if he resigned - as Curbishley successfully did

Re: Moyes Out
"He is in his last year so surely the pay off isn't too much for a club that has just received 100 million quid. Sullivan seems so hellbent on saving, what, 5 million at the expense of losing 80,90 million that a relegation could cause. Budget billionaire"
Re: Moyes Out
"If Sullivan can't make the obvious decision, it would be interesting to see what would happen if the players just refused to play for him. Can't see that happening, but that is something he would have to answer for. The cսnt is not bigger than the club, and something needs to be done."

Re: Moyes Out
"Unless.we can find grounds to sack, moyes wants to be around until he retires or we pay him accordingly off which might not necessarily mean one more year.. he may have achieved reactivation clauses already I am not sure but if not quite then would then explain sullivan not wanting to arm him to be good and rather indirectly enable him to fall below levels that mean activation. Its all boring and shamefully confusing bollox that I'd expect nothing less of our club to have. I mean it's a circus right. üé™"

Re: Moyes Out
"I was led to believe that his contract has engagement clauses for after this year if he achieves certain levels and that's where the problem lies and why he could ""sue"". Anyway I'm no legal man at all and passing on what I was told. The source is best mates with a player. On another note, Jared Bowen recently was rumoured to be refusing to sign a contract unless there was a regime change. Also, the comment below about team unity is true. The players have a good bond but what also is true is its a bond that is against the manager. It would not take much for a group downing of tools so to speak."

Re: Moyes Out
"I'm amazed Sullivan found the time to get these clauses inserted in the contract, considering we have had 6 weeks and can't do a transfer deal. The only clause that needs activating is gross misconduct for calling out the fans, the people who are the fabric of the club. The sooner this cսnt goes the better."
Re: Moyes Out
"wd40 12:48 Sun Aug 6 Re: Moyes Out Good see the board not sacking him and least giving him the start of the season to see how it goes. Decent behaviour after wining a cup last season. Nope, weak, loser mentality behaviour I'm afraid."

"I would have thought so, too, Fraser. Are there any ""òlegal eagles' amongst us who can explain if Moyes would have a case for unfair dismissal?"

Re: Moyes Out
"his agent/management team must have put so many clauses in his contract, and of course the clown show running the club clearly didn't read the small print when bringing him back I don't doubt the players are united, and which is why I'm not worried about any new manager coming in and doing a job. that unity was there to see in alkmaar against those hooded cunts. the problem is there's also unity against that jock shitbag and that doesn't lead to winning football any time soon"
Re: Moyes Out
"Not sure I buy all of that, but some I can absolutely see happening. Re sacking for anything other than results - our league form has been woeful for a long time. Surely enough to get rid. As with last season, I hate it when we lose but if it results in him going then so be it."

Re: Moyes Out
"Decent and worrying read that Pentonville. The club is run like a circus, and a bloody riot should take place! Still, some people among the fans think this is acceptable and fine, and spend most of their posts criticizing others."
