You could definitely see Rogers going back there. I wonder if Moyes would fancy it? Or would Celtic fancy him?

"So, Papavasiliou (surely you remember him at Newcastle?!), or whatever his name is, looks dead set to become Spurs manager. The two favourites for the Celtic job are Moyes and Rodgers. Let's hope Moyes signs off with a trophy on Wednesday and then fulfils his dream of managing his boyhood club. Of course, neatly convenient for us, too. I'd take Rodgers at West Ham. Good manager when he's backed by a board (Leicester's owners pulled the rug from under him) and will have us on the front foot. He's not Pep, but few are. His teams are good to watch, though."

"Getting 60k for home games is great and will certainly help us attract players over the likes of Palace but in terms of annual income and being known the world over and being attractive to the big companies we aren't on the same level of an Arsenal or even Tottenham. For comparison the combined income for us last season for kit supplier, main sponsor and sleeve sponsor was 14.5 million. (Umbro 3 million, Betway 10 million, Scope markets 1.5 million) For Tottenham it's 75 million (Nike 30 million, AIA 30 million, Cinch 8 million, Getir 7 million) For Arsenal it's 110 million (Adidas 60 million, Fly Emirates 40 million, Visit Rwanda 10 million) Arsenal's twitter account has 21.6 million followers Tottenham's twitter account has 8.6 million followers West Ham's twitter account has 2.6 million followers I know the amount of twitter followers doesn't necessarily mean actual supporters but it is a barometer of judging how much interest there is in clubs and something sponsors are interested in to know how many people they can target to advertise their products. 60k fans or not, we aren't on the same planet as Arsenal when it comes to a world wide brand."

We are very similar to the likes of Villa & Everton & Newcastle (not for long). It was 360 who decided to use london team as the benchmark. By which benchmark Palace are the closest by most metrics (over the decade).

The value of their club is close to ours due to them owning a nice bit of London real estate....and all you are doing is comparing results......we are just as close to lots of average sized clubs if you do that......

"all you've done is show we are well supported - which is great but doesn't change much. attendance aside, every other metric we are closer to Palace than the other 3 London clubs (i'm ignoring Fulham). they've been in the PL for about 10 years straight, we're done 12. they've average league position is 12th in those ten years and ours is 11th. the value of their club is currently much closer to us than arsenal or spurs or chelsea."

"Palace are not close to us historically. While playing for West Ham, we've had 472 players capped by England, Palace have had 54 players capped. They've never won a major trophy, I don't believe they've even played in proper European competition. We also have never played outside the top 2 divisions, they have been in the 4th tier before. Their best position in the last 30 years is 10th place once in 2015, 13 seasons in the top flight, with 17 in the division below. The same period, we've had 27 of 30 seasons in the top division with 13 of them being placed in the top 10."

"goose, we are going direct in competition with the other clubs in London that can draw 60,000+ attendances Palaces best seat in the house just about (but still under) reaches our band 2 and we have two further higher bands which are close to double their best season ticket.....this tells us where West Ham are looking for their custom.....it's no where near a Palace fan.....but more towards getting towards the Arsenal or Tottenham custom....."

"Side that movement towards Arsenal is very short lived and driven by them finishing 8th 20/21 so no european football 21/22 while we did. the gap will be large again over the next year with their prize money and european football. but putting short term changes aside they're a million miles ahead of us in terms of LFL revenue streams (matchday, sponsorship, merchandise etc etc). it's not even close hence they're worth double (?) what we are."

"The latest Forbes figures show we are moving away from Palace and closer to Arsenals have a look, this is our potential now due to the move....Palace will never be the draw West Ham is.. we are currently (even though we are quite shit) getting better attendance than Arsenal & Tottenham.....remember the owners said history begins now (Circa 2016).....they may be possibly for once....right.....especially if the main hinderance on the football side sells up....."

"Side - attendances aside Palace are the closest thing to us, and our attendances dont drive that much more in terms of income. The value of the club is a representation of its size, revenue, performance etc etc. Our on the pitch performance and revenues over the past 10 years is much closer to Palace than Arsenal or Spurs or Chelsea. Sad but true i'm afraid."

"goose 2:14 Mon Jun 5 On that Forbes list we are closer to Arsenal than Palace on everything except value, which would be due to the club not owning the stadium?.....and we get nearly 2.5 times their attendance.....but beat Arsenal and Tottenham for average gates....I don't see how we are now even close since our move from 2016....."

"Where did this ""leave by mutual consent"" rumour come from? Not sure it holds up, surely Moyes would expect his contract to be paid up and I just can't see Sullivan doing that without having 'no choice'. What makes people think he'd do that if we win on Wednesday?"

brick_lane_batty_boy 2:55 Mon Jun 5 Agree with that. Really hoping that we will get the mutually agreed leaving statement from the club regardless of result of the conference final. I fear it won't happen and we will be strapped in with more of the same for another season.

"Well despite several seasons being in a relegation battle we haven't gone down for over a decade , so I wouldn't say we are a yo yo club either. I also wouldn't say we ended miles away this season. Just my perspective of course."

Arguing about being miles away from relegation is just subjective. What constitutes 'miles' ? Is taking until the 37th game to achieve 40 points miles away ? It's just perspective

Wednesday isnt only massive for this season but massive for next season to Going into it with better players attracted by the europa league and another european tour on the horizon will soften the blow of losing Rice and possibly still having Moyes in charge Lose and well....... don't want to think about it

"This cup run has glossed over a terrible league season - from pushing on and progressing - we've gone backwards - but this has been going on 18 months - it's not exclusive to this campaign. I class 6pts above relegation - as close to getting relegated. There have been very few stand out performances this season across all competitions. The football has been woeful. Yes if we win this competition - majority will take that and quickly forget about the league form - If we don't win it - we will then have lost a cup that on paper we should've won and also will have had a shocking season in the league. I think Moyes needs to go irrespective of the final result - for the good of the club, a mutual separation would be an acceptable end to Moyes stint at the club. Would just love to see us think outside of the box when it comes to a new hire.... Which obviously wont happen - The west ham way"
