Potter Out
Had enough of this arogrant no mark now.
11 games, 27% win ratio and 0.66 goals per game.
Either the break clause is true or this flake quits otherwise were proper fucked.

Re: Potter Out
I'm delighted for Potter as he isn't going anywhere it seems. At least Potter showed that he can win games but I do wonder at his selections, tactics and substitutions even though it worked out yesterday. However, this Man Utd was not the old Man Utd who would have definitely scored and punished our defence. Hojlund could have had a hat trick but credit to Areola who played a blinder. .
However, I still don't see Potter as the man to get us back to European football anytime soon. Perhaps it's the squad itself rather than Potter? It was noticeable that we did better in midfield without Paqueta which may soon be the case anyway.
One sunny day after months of tedious losses is good but is it repeatable next weekend? I somehow think not... .

Re: Potter Out
Like Flopetegui, Cock Piss Plopper scores a pyrrhic victory against the worst Man U side in the last 50 years and probably the last century. Although Floppy actually beat their "stars" while Cock Piss took the gift against the deadwood and smega.
Sadly it will allow the glowed up Brummie piss mop more time than he deserves and tragically the chance to piss our sumner budget away on Ramsdale, Brownhill, Webster etc...

Re: Potter Out
According to official match statistics, Soucek made 1 successful tackle and 1 interception against Man Utd.
Do you think you might be choosing to see what you want to see?

Re: Potter Out
OK, so about this, I think it's a load of bollocks half the time when people make this anonymous observation about Soucek. Reason being is other than being a real constant goal threat for us all the time during games again like yesterday, I actually lost count the amount of times he won back the ball for us. And the thought that kept crossing my mind was, I bet people take them challenges he regularly makes for granted all over the pitch when he makes them. As they don't often stand out as he quietly goes about his business but he does a dog load of work I think that goes unnoticed a lot of the time.
It even culminated right at the end near our Away fans when he steamed in to a Manc player to win the ball back cleanly yet again and he thought fuck it, I'll milk it this time and so he roused our Away fans right up because of the challenge. The fans duly responded back by appreciating it. But it wasn't a one-off, he was constantly winning back the ball in both halves i can remember and just thought it really did stand out to me how much quality defensive work he gets through.
So for me there's no conundrum, he just needs to be appreciated more rather than just belittled as some awkward lump who should be constantly sold after every other game because the passing stats tell them so.

Re: Potter Out
Not been impressed with him at all but looks like we’re stuck with him, so might as well get behind him.
Hoping for a strong finish to the season to set us up for next, but doubt it’ll happen.

Re: Potter Out
Strange game but great result. The Mancs are not a high intensity, pressing team especially in midfield and that allowed Rodruiguez to shoe he’s a decent footballer but in a slower league because we were playing at walking pace at times.
Almost as if Potter was saying to those being released by tue club that they get a game to show what they can still do for say a promoted club like Leeds or Burnley or some other team in Europe or even the Championship. A “shop window” opportunity to soften the blow of being let go? Well its hard to understand the starting selections otherwise?
AWB MOTM for me by some distance, Areola was the other standout. Kilman looked better and we looked well organised and solid. We also saw that we will need to replace Kudus if he goes as we expect. Today he was decent evrn if bith he and Bowen get dispossessed too easily at times.
Finally Soucek. The ultimate footballing conundrum as he looks so slow and struggles to kerp
pace in midfield in many games, almost anonymous. But he knows when to get in the box and get on the end of things. Its an art in itself. Today he was a lot better in general play because the game was slower and lacked the intensity that some teams play at. Soucek was neat and tidy playing one touch passes and even a nice dragback 2nd half. He also made a frw very decent last ditch blocks and headers.
In summary, welcome win, you can see what Potter is trying to get the players to do and control games through possession which we are slowly getting beyyer at. But its also clear that there is still a huge requirement for 2 fast, athletic, strong central midfielders and a quick, powerful central striker ( something we’ve known for several seasons)

Re: Potter Out
Strange really, had we got the 6 points against Southampton and Brighton like we should have, I’d have a different outlook on Potter.
It’s hard to feel much positivity about the club atm, and it’s difficult to know just how much of it he could fix.
There are some decent moments in our patterns of play that shows he is at least trying to play the right way, but that’s no real different to Lopetegui.
I don’t know what to expect from him in the transfer market, but if he is going to target getting the average age down significantly I’ll be happy. I just hope our strategy is different to the scattergun approach of bringing players in with seemingly no idea of how to get them complimenting each other as a team. At least then if results don’t come for Potter someone else might be able to.

Re: Potter Out
Would be another talented yet temperamental sort who’d stink it out once he realized he’s been duped and we aren’t about to win shit.
and yes it’d never happen anyway

The only cheeky offer Sullivan would be interested in would be this off one of his top shelves that he struggles to reach for...

but from the starting line up to taking off Kudus and Bowen I can’t quite work out how that’s happenedWhat did Kudus offer?
The setting up of the first goal and pace
when you’re under the kosh it’s your fast players that are the ones that are more likely to get the ball out and relieve some pressure
We ended the game with not a single player with any pace on the pitch
it’s ended up working out, but you’d have to be nuts recommending to do that everytime you’re winning to hold on to a lead

Secondly, and the one I'd pick, he genuinely believes that line up is the answer to the question, how do I beat Man U. Which suggests the man has in fact sufferred a stress induced nervous breakdown.
Either way he should have been sacked the second he announced that team.
