"Iron Duke, yep, but we are talking about this season""¶.and this seasons semi final stages""¶.where we wouldn't have got past either""¶.just get some perspective on this cup we are in the final of""¶..it is the least important cup out of all the cups that are competed for by PL clubs""¶.doesn't mean we can't be happy winning it just that any other PL club makes an effort to win it should""¶..and easily""¶.and because they are not in it we""òve had an easy run to the final""¶.Moyes should have had us walking this instead it's been a grind at times""¶."
Re: Moyes Out
"Virtually all of the stories football journalists write are just guesswork. That has crept into newspaper journalism too. Can you imagine that stories are kept secret except only an obscure journalist has been told the truth? Of course not. It's just journalism in the modern era. Knock out out a few lines to justify their job""¶"
Re: Moyes Out
We had to finish above Newcastle in the league in order to qualify for the Conference League. Teams often field weakened sides in the EFL Cup. The winner of the EFL Cup qualifies for the Conference League.
Re: Moyes Out
The number of people now suddenly willing to forgive Moyes for the last 18 months of domestic tripe that he has stubornly served up is embarrassing. Surely the fact that he has been playing the utterly uselss Soucek for all season says everything. He has to go. Let him win something for once and leave on a high.

"To win this seasons League Cup we would had to defeat either Manchester United or Newcastle United over 2 legs""¶..it's not the same as the Europa Conference is it""¶..please try another more feasible way of making this cup more worthy""¶.."

Sir Alf 4:36 Sat May 20 Re: Moyes Out In that Football Insider article iit states that Moyes does not have the rapport with McKinlay and Warburton that he had with Pearce and Irvine. I think the fact also that our set piece approach seems to have gone highlights issues with Nolan. If Moyes goes will a new coach bring in a completely different backroom set up?

Re: Moyes Out
You've gotta laugh reading that football insider story. How that NUMPTY journalist has put in west ham have punched above their weight in the conference league . When were by far the richest in it . We've massively under performed in the premier League but he's conveniently ignored that .

"Oz - Sadly for you typing out all that angry cliched crap doesn't make you right, it's still only your opinion, and like arseholes.. Is it worth winning? Yes. is it a second rate competition? Yes, of course it fucking is."
Re: Moyes Out
"Grasshopper, ECL is a shit tournament? Think you need to fuck off somewhere and stop being an entitled tart. I will make the bold assumption you are a Euro 96er. Its not the Champions League.... Oh sorry to upset you. People who right of the tournament are a little errrmmm 'Fick' I see the MIghty Hammers win the Intertwo Bob cup, that was totally different. That was played pre season and was a fuck ton less games. This is a worthy tournament, hate to break it to people but we aren't Barcelona, like Spurs have found out winning shit isn't easy. People who slag of the ECL are like Vegans, need to constantly tell people who don't care."
Re: Moyes Out
"I think people should stop downgrading the Conference League. It is on the par with the League Cup, arguably better. Enjoy it and make the most of it. It's times like these that remind you why we do this."

Re: Moyes Out
"Surface It doesn't matter what you think is happening on Planet Earth.. stating my opinion in the hope that the glory hunters might think twice about accepting what would be a continuation of this turgid season is my prerogative.. I disagree that we have to accept Moyes is hear to stay, I disagree that just because he wins our first trophy in 40+ years (barring the equally 3rd rate Intertoto) means we couldn't possibly sack him off, in fact if everyone who raves about the form we have showed in Europe should look to how abysmal our form in the Prem has been and question why he can't reproduce that the players are good enough to win those games against all those foreign teams, either the manager isn't cut out for managing us in the Prem or the European competition arent really up to much which is it? You can't cut it both ways.... he is limited, that's why we got rid the first time... its just history repeating itself so let's not waste time bigging him up only to find 5 games into next season we want rid again.."
Re: Moyes Out
"LJC FOMB - I genuinely hadn't seen that, but none the less, same opinion The things for me, on top of the obvious for months, was the private Noble meeting with the players and the recent announcement around a DOF and dissatisfaction with transfer dealings"
Re: Moyes Out
The thing is I can't currently see that anything will be different in the prem league next season. I'm aware what he is achieving in Europe is very special but when we start again next season is he capable of us suddenly becoming a much better team? I'm actually interested to hear how he's going to change things cos his current team is easily good enough already
Re: Moyes Out
"Moyes Yeah I've wanted him off for 18 months now, but that aside, I reckon he is off, publicly announced that it's his choice, all formal club gratitude statements but behind the scenes a conversation has been had All conjecture, based upon nothing but mood music and body language His run his course and will find another horse to ride"

Re: Moyes Out
"Sir Alf 4:36 Sat May 20 Yep, just watching him at the end there, clearly the players love him and he is in control of every moment, including dragging the match winner over to the away fans. Proper leader. Then you watch David 'I won the semi-final' Moyes around the players, it's like the fella that wasn't invited to the party, so awkward."
Re: Moyes Out
"Watching Thomas Frank in the Spurs V Brentford game. Talking to every player as they come on as subs and leading the coaches on what he wants. A real tactician who leads with a clear plan but also ""hands on""ù with the implementation of them. Moyes is like a middle manager who is remote, leaves it to his coaches but gives them no room for deviating from his one way to play. Said so many times but Moyes is the last of kind, a previous era of football managers where the intelligence levels required and tactics were far less demanding. His time is over in the current era but only Sullivan and Moyes have yet to realise it."

Re: Moyes Out
"BillyJenningsBoots 3:29 Sat May 20 Like I said, on Planet Earth that isn't happening. So you are just repeating the same old moans you have had for a year (most of which I agree with) just for the sake of repeating them. Do yourself a favour give it a rest for 6 months (or until we lose the final) and enjoy the ride. I don't doubt you will cause to have a go again then."
