The transfer value of our squad is about 8th in the premier league with a small number of players making up a big part of that value. We are about 9th in the wages bill but might need to increase that as certain players leave. Over the last three years we may well be at about our level and spending more might get us more but you definitely need the right coaching staff to achieve that. Bearing in mind Moyes is one of the longest serving managers in the league there is not much room for error for any manager. Personally I find Moyes grounded and realistic and honest. I also believe he likes to work with grown ups.

"I'm pretty generous with cutting managers slack and was probably toward the tail end of flipping over to Moyes out, but even though things are looking better than they have, there's too much water under the bridge for him to stay even if we finish strong and win the UEL. It's clear the players don't like his tactics, we don't like them and it feels like a marriage of convenience until the end of the season. Our only real shot of retaining Scamacca Paqueta and (long shot) Rice for any amount of time will hinge on Moyes leaving, I believe. He did well with what we had and then did poorly when given a whole lot more. I will give him credit for what he did and especially if he can motivate and manage the squad to win the first real trophy in my non-infant memory. But with what we want to do and what we can do - it needs to be someone else going forward.

Players that people on here were writing off 6 months ago are now showing how good they are, I think Scamacca will show the same next season. The bottom line is he's spent nearly £200 million on players then took about 30 games before we saw a decent performance and with three games left were still not mathematically safe from the drop. Why risk another season like that
