The Championship
Very much a 3-horse race for the 2 automatic promotion spots between Burnley, Leeds and Sheffield United, one teams fans are going to be gutted they don't make it especially seeing how far ahead of the pack all 3 are, but at least they will have the play off opportunity and would imagine be hot favorites to go up that way.
Sunderland look nailed on for 4th, then a decent gap to 4 teams vying for 5th and 6th currently Middlesbrough and Bristol City, but these positions change weekly, WBA and Coventry held them last weekend!
Leeds and Burnley to get the Automatic promotion, would love to see Bristol City get the play off place but realistically its going to be Sunderland or Sheffield United.
Mind you whomever comes up is almost nailed on to go back down such is the gap between the 2 divisions now, will need a PL team to really turn to shit to see any change IMO, then expect the likes of Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich to be near or at the top of the Championship and coming back up to replace the 3 new boys from 2025 in 2026!

Re: The Championship
Watched most of the Leeds v Bristol C game last night.
Leeds gave them an absolute chasing throughout. Could have been 6 or 7 to be fair
Looked a decent hardworking team run by the Japanese international Tanaka. Whether that will translate into the Premier league without some additions who knows
Probably have a better chance than the last two groups of promoted teams
Bristol City spent the night chasing shadows so Earthy had few opportunities to get into the game.
Looked neat on the ball but what I did notice was that he worked hard to close down & kept going throughout in a pretty overwhelmed performance
Worked harder in the first 20 mins that most of our midfield did at Brighton in 90

Millwall will get close to the playoffs then bottle it when the reality of possibly having to come & play us LOOMS
The fact there last game is at Burnley who will be going flat out to win the league don't help.
I suspect the top 6 will stay as it is.

Re: The Championship
There are quite a few variables, you say if Cov slip up Millwall and Blackburn are the in form teams that could steal it, but if Cov slip that means 'Boro will get top 6 unless it's a draw (between Cov and Boro). Then there is Bristol City. If Cov v Boro is a draw and Bristol City fuck up then both Wall and Blackburn could both get top 6.
All that said, I think the main topic here is about Wall potentially coming up, they won't.

Nah, suspect Cov will beat 'Boro and even if they do make the play off's they won't come up IMO. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind it, gives us at least one (or two) things to look forward to next season.

Re: The Championship
Do your "new breed" regard Barnet as the actual rival these days rather than Arsenal?

Re: The Championship
4 points separate 5 clubs in contention for 2 play off places, results again all over the place, Coventry lost to a 90 min winner from Luton, but that took the Hatters out of the bottom 3, Millwall right in it after beating Swansea which sees the Taffs all but out of the race! as it does WBA who could only draw.
Bristol City didn't play but stay 5th, if they win the game in hand will take them 4 points clear of the pack, but that game is Leeds who although promoted fell to second after Burnley thumped QPR 5-0 away so they have the title to go for, hope Earthy is on top form, this will be great experience for him.

Yes very definitely wet and windy in Wigan, a few years ago I went up there with the Hornchurch coach, it was a cup game, and as I was walking from the pub to the ground it had been raining heavily and there was a huge puddle upon which SOME FUCKING cսnt in a motor flew past and FUCKING DRENCHED ME, I was absolutely soaked and I think we lost anyway.

He will no doubt be hoping they will stay up for his sake and because he will know the people there, but it looks like they have left it too late.

Re: The Championship
I just had a look, 8 teams involved, it's a point for each for the bottom three for their GD. Plymouth staying up will Shirley boost Rooney's managerial career

Big question is, whoever is promoted, can they last more than a season or are we going to see the promoted teams relegated each season and shit like Crystal fucking Surrey cսnt Palace linger in the league? We ran through Bristols mob when we travellled there for the cup replay

Re: The Championship
Looking at results its clear who the first 2 play off places are, and all but sealed for Shefield Utd and Sunderland but the last 2 play off places are anyone's guess, the 3 teams going into these fixtures looking most likely all lost, so now it's real tight bunch with Blackburn and Millwall putting themselves right in contention.
