The Championship
Very much a 3-horse race for the 2 automatic promotion spots between Burnley, Leeds and Sheffield United, one teams fans are going to be gutted they don't make it especially seeing how far ahead of the pack all 3 are, but at least they will have the play off opportunity and would imagine be hot favorites to go up that way.
Sunderland look nailed on for 4th, then a decent gap to 4 teams vying for 5th and 6th currently Middlesbrough and Bristol City, but these positions change weekly, WBA and Coventry held them last weekend!
Leeds and Burnley to get the Automatic promotion, would love to see Bristol City get the play off place but realistically its going to be Sunderland or Sheffield United.
Mind you whomever comes up is almost nailed on to go back down such is the gap between the 2 divisions now, will need a PL team to really turn to shit to see any change IMO, then expect the likes of Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich to be near or at the top of the Championship and coming back up to replace the 3 new boys from 2025 in 2026!

Re: The Championship
Nah, im all good, i live in the Hills area of Sydney, so hence the name, floods are not an issue in my neck of the woods, strong winds on the other hand🌪
One set of fans will be on cloud 9 and the other in a dark place though, i particularly remember that Blackpool game, brilliant sunshine it almost felt like it was the FA Cup final, mind you i also remember that bleak feeling when we lost to Palace, but the days in the lead up to all the games we have been involved in is half the fun IMO, your buzzing and cant wait, remember being very envious watching the footage of fans getting the train to the game and all singing and happy as fuck.
Was reading neither Sunderland (2) nor Sheffield (3) have ever won a play-off final, so one club is going to pop there play off winner's cherry

Sydders - Have the floods there effected you, fella??
As for the play-off's, yea it's always a good watch and agree that Sheff win and come back down again. Would like to see the Mackerns do it.

Re: The Championship
Play off final is Saturday Sunderland V Sheffield United.
Always enjoy these games, it's like a Cup final and maybe the better way for clubs to get the promotion to the PL, the fans get a day out, although granted getting top 2 and instant promotion is far more reassuring for the clubs, for the fans though its a special day (well not is you lose
, remember Palace in 2004!) as it was for us against Blackpool
and Preston a few years earlier
Very much a neutral in this one, always had a irrational hatred of Sunderland and our history with the blades aint good either
FWIW reckon Sheffield will win easily, they destroyed Bristol City in the play offs and finished way ahead of Sunderland in the league who made hard work of beating Coventry with a last gasp goal, there form going into these play offs is pretty poor as well.
Whomever wins though is nailed on for relegation IMO.

Re: The Championship
Bellingham did some decent stuff defensively but Sunderland were under the pump in both games so not sure he had a great opportunity
Long way from Premier league standard , very young & needs a couple of more seasons at that level
Have no idea how they won as they were outclassed in both games
Be astounded if Sheff Utd don’t smash them

Re: The Championship
That's the first time I've seen Jobe Bellingham, I think.
Seems like he's done well living off his name considering how he played and the teams that are meant to be in for him.

Re: The Championship
I watched the first half last night and Sunderland were poor. Can't see either them or Sheffield United staying up.

I think Wrexham have found a different model. I also think its replicable. If we embraced all our super supporters, hooligans and heritage it would be infinitely more interesting than sub par corporate fuck nonsense. Fucking hate the corporatisation of football.

Re: The Championship
For quite some time now I've been thinking that it wouldn't be such a bad thing for the top 3-4 teams in each country to do their superleague nonsense as long as they are fucked off for good and banned from their national competitions.
I can't think of a single reason why what is left behind wouldn't enthuse and encourage people to feel optimistic about the future.
At the moment for 3/4 quarters of every league England,Spain,Italy, Germany, France it's just a race to the bottom to get into huge, unsustainable debt to remain in the flatulent slipstream of the corporate behemoths. They are no longer football clubs in the traditional sense of the word and as far as I'm concerned I'd be delighted if they fucked off to their closed shop. All the glory hunter morons are welcome to them!

Re: The Championship
Sunderland played like a nervy Team and not like their normal selves as during the season they actually played well. I expect them to go up and were my tip before the playoffs. And if they do I couldn't think of too many other better Clubs to do it against.

Re: The Championship
Coventry were the better team in both games but Sunderland clung on and snatched it
Agree that Sheff Utd should beat them comfortably
And be odds on favourites to finish 20th next season.

Watching the Harry Redknapp years has given me a new appreciation of Lampard, excellent player for us.
