Blimey, now that is what I'd call a deep cut!
It is an excellent track.  The album On Parole is a great album.  Of course it helps that three of the tracks on it, including this one, are old Hawkwind songs.

I got to see Alex live back in the early 2000s, he was part of this soul concert at Wembley Arena. Other acts were Kid Creole & The Coconuts, The Real Thing, Shalamar, Rose Royce, Tavares & Chic

someone's uploaded it on YT....

It's not always about playing at 1,000,000 mph. Funnily enough, despite PG's well-deserved god-like status, a lot of famous early FM guitar parts are played by Danny Kirwan. Oh Well, for starters.

Far from it, hence my comment about the 'sound' of the guitar not how quickly or otherwise it's being played.

Do pay attention Pike...
I am generally not a fan of guitar solos and needless guitar wankery in particular.
The hammer on/pull off widdly stuff is actually pretty easy to learn even for ham fisted bass player like me.
It is ALL about the sound and melody and feel is much more important.
There are loads that I love and most are about the feel. Mind you the first time I heard Eruption...
Then you get this:

Likewise. There are many bluffers who hideously overuse flashy techniques such as hammer-ons, tapping and pinch harmonics to try to dazzle the audience.

Accurate use of string skipping and clean sweep picking are much harder to do. Most impressive if you are able to use these techniques skillfully, and then only use them REALLY occasionally and appropriately.

I have to say, like him as I do, if that is 'THE' guitar on that track, I really don't think it sounds anything special.🤷‍♂️

Love this one.
Robert Smith looks so young and him and Budgie were only depping at the time.

Yeah we know you like it.

87 separate listens of this album means 87 separate posts on here.

its just spamming up the board
.

Disagree fella.
Spamming up the board is complaining about a user posting the title of the album they're listening to now, on a thread titled 'What if anything are you listening to now', without actually mentioning what YOU are listening to now.
A pointless post, as you've imparted absolutely no information on what you're listening to now.
