Re: Moyes Out
Come on the Swiss..... Oh dear.....like I said Southampton DID beat them....and they (Chelsea) are one of thew top teams to go up against....the fact they are mid table and we drew at home to them and the very next week one of our relegation rivals BEAT them shows Moyes hasn't got the record to do this.... ....you are such a thick overpaid PA it's unreal....
Re: Moyes Out
I actually expect to see a reaction after Brighton. I think the players know they owe us and that gives me hope that we can beat villa. A loss would see it get ugly in the ground and him gone surely (but how many times have we said that). A Draw is perhaps the most likely and least wanted result as a point isn't enough to help our cause but it's probably enough to keep Moyes in a job.
Re: Moyes Out
More evidence he's lost the dressing room: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/mar/06/david-moyes-dressing-room-discontent-west-ham-tactics Not that we really needed anymore after what we witnessed Saturday.

Re: Moyes Out
"Side of Ham 6:13 Mon Mar 6 Chelsea are mid-table and we nearly (should have) beaten them but for Cornet missing an open goal, you div. Quit trying to talk about football like the grown ups as you just embarrass yourself, son."
Re: Moyes Out
"The one thing giving hope is our recent home form, we've beaten Everton and Forest, while drawing with Chelsea the past 3 matches. I'd fancy us to beat Saints at home, it's whether we can get 4 points off of Villa and Newcastle"

Re: Moyes Out
For me what makes us one of the three to go down is that those around us seem to be capable of pulling off an unexpected win against top or inform opposition. Like Everton with Arsenal and Southampton at Chelsea......our manager writes those games off hoping for a point....this will seal our fate....

Re: Moyes Out
"He will have his pride and belief in himself he can turn it around and won't want a relegation on his CV, so at least to that extent he will be bothered. He's also not going to walk away and forego millions in a payout, especially if he's not likely to get a decent job any time soon- which frankly seems a bit unlikely now after how far south it's gone here. No one walks away from a big payout unless they are insane, regardless of how bad a job they are doing. The onus is on their employer to say enough is enough and make a change, even if it's short term cost for long term benfit."
Re: Moyes Out
"To be honest up until the Brighton game I thought moyes would keep us with only one defeat in the previous 5 games .Then we look to bringing in a younger manager with a different approach in the summer. However , after the shambolic performance on Saturday I'm certainly not sure. Its so tight at the bottom now its anyone's guess who will go down even with a change of manager."
Re: Moyes Out
"It must be a strange situation for Moyes. He's arrogant as they come, knows the fans aren't on side and the players aren't either. He also must know he's being sacked soon or end of the season so is he even that bothered"
Re: Moyes Out
Sullivan is a very good porn baron and like most people who made big money has been on a one-way bet investing it into assets like property (and west ham). He also suffers from the delusion that being good at one thing makes him good at everything else. He thinks he's a genius and is surrounded by people who won't tell him otherwise. I'm sure one day when he gets ill it will all end badly when he tries to operate on himself after dismissing his medical team

Re: Moyes Out
"I think with Sullivan it's ego and he can't resist pretending he's a ""òfootball man' and I think it's to the detriment of the club. His little gambles on the likes of Zara re and sakho and other hitherto unknown strikers is fine but I also think he makes or breaks the bigger transfers depending on if he fancies a player or not. It's easy for him to not close a deal on someone the manager wants if he doesn't agree or push through on one he does like even if the manager isn't sold. ""òWell David we can't get X but how about Y? It's him or nothing I am afraid.' This is not to absolve Moyes of his guilt with transfer shortcomings but I think it takes two to tango and combine to create a perfect storm of shit."
Re: Moyes Out
"I think the trouble with Sullivan more than anything is he has a misplaced sense of value, and values the wrong things (particularly in managers). He's still got the view on football club ownership that was in place pre-Sky and just after....and he's always had a managerial blindspot, only ever having deviated once (Bilic). Fundmentally he values: 1. Experience of managing in England (all except Bilic) 2. A long career/experience in general/older managers (all except Bilic) 3. Having 'won stuff'/prestige (Pellegrini, Grant, the attempt at Benitez) 4. Not in a current job (all of them) He also has been quoted previously (I seem to recall): 1. Not believing managers are any better at picking players than him 2. Not believing managers regularly offer much one over another 3. Believing managers rarely have more than a 3 year tenure What he doesn't do is look at our specific circumstances, look at the prevailing trend in those being successful, look at the characteristics of our existing squad, and then look to match an appointment to that. All the things that you need for continuity, avoiding wholescale and regular squad overhaul, and allowing to hire progressive managers that are in line with the changing modern game. You can't truly argue he won't stick his hand in his pocket and give us money to spend, as we have always spent to the level of our revenue standing under him (and at times beyond). The likelihood (sadly) of us getting a decent manager with him at the helm as a result is very low."

Re: Moyes Out
"that's a very big/nanny state view of things When we lose at Spurs, and there's literally no conversation after the game, there's no inquest or team meeting, everyone just gets on the bus, goes home, wth nothing said - that's Moyes' decision. No one else's. He's fucking useless."

Re: Moyes Out
"""i've never fully understood how sullivan became, and remained, so wealthy. He really is unbelievably dense."" Intelligence is multi-faceted. According to wiki, Sullivan nearly got a first in economics and got three A levels before then, back in a time when A levels were an advanced measure of intelligence. So he's clearly not ""unbelievably dense"" and he clearly has business acumen. He is just incompetent at running football clubs because he lacks the vision and strategy to build a successful operation on and off the pitch."

"i've never fully understood how sullivan became, and remained, so wealthy. He really is unbelievably dense. I suppose, in fairness to him, he's been no different to the rest of the footballing fraternity in assuming we'll be fine - and we might well be by virtue of having better players than anyone around us - but the simplicity of looking at us, going 'goals scored column is low' and spending silly money on a striker is sullivan all over."

Re: Moyes Out
Absolutely. It doesn't really make a blind bit of difference when whoever is playing in the position is isolated from his team mates and starved of possession or chances because of the way the team was set up by the manager.

"Sullivan made a mistake spending all that money on an aging injury prone striker on a long contract, who's unlikely to improve us massively, instead of using that money to fuck off the manager."

Re: Moyes Out
"If Sullivan were checking out this month guaranteed regardless, he wouldn't have spent almost 20 million on a striker. Unless Kretinsky sanctioned the move and paid for it. But we'd know about it if he did."
