Lee Boxell Disappearance (35 Year anniversary) Presumed Dead
The met have offered a £20k reward as part of a reappeal into the disappearance of this poor lad who left home to watch a football match on that fateful September day 35 years ago and never returned. The main suspect in this case is now deceased and the answers seem to lie within the grounds of St Dunstons church where he worked as a gravedigger and run an unofficial youth club know as the Shed where he systematically abused young girls for which he was subsequently convicted. One theory was that Lee walked in on something at this site and was killed trying to protect the victim or to ensure his silence. This site was subject to a mass excavation by the police after the link to the shed became evident but the actual burial / graves could not be touched and may well be hold the key to where his remains are. The appeal is obviously to nudge the conscience of those who were around this Shed place at the time but remained silent due to fear of the perpetrator or being somewhere they shouldn't of been as well as possibly being victims of abuse carried out there. Hopefully one day Lee's parents now in there late 70s will find some answers as to his final resting place but for the time being at least it would seem the perpetrator has taken the secret to his grave.

GBHammer63 Agreed. It's too important to have family pedants stood in the way. As I've mentioned, most likely scenario is he's double dug an imminent burial grave and put the boy in so he's underneath the actual deceased coffin. And who's to say he didn't have other unknowns and runaways at his 'youth club', shared with his evil mates, and disposed of in the same way? The point has long since passed whereby the need to know must surely override any objections.

In a case like this I’d have absolutely no problems in digging up a grave of any of my family members, once you’re gone you’re gone, easy to state when you haven’t got a belief, but the parents at least deserve an answer.

Poor people, living for a billion to 1 chance every single day of the rest of their lives I’d have hung the dirty fucker who was the suspect up by his bollocks til he told all.

Funnily enough I was reading about this case last night. He’s the same age as me so it’s easy to see myself in his position. The parents kept his bedroom exactly the same until very recently and it really made me think when I saw the photos, of that time in my life. Terrible torment for the mum and dad, as it seems pretty obvious who did it but he’s now dead and there’s still little real eveidence. You would have thought with todays technology they would have at least managed to of eliminated the church yard.

Not being able to touch the graves means they are unlikely to find him, even if he is buried there. The suspect was a gravedigger there, so he is likely to have dug double depth ahead of a funeral and put the boy in the ground down below the actual named deceased. I'd have thought they would be able to narrow the likely burial site down to just a few graves, from funerals immediately following the day Lee disappeared..?
