Re: Gibraltar Airport
Years ago, I worked for various airlines, one of which did the Gatwick-Gibraltar route. With permission from the captain, I'd often do a jolly there and back in the flight deck. Don't know if it's still the same now, but in those days you weren't allowed to go straight from Spanish to Gib airspace, so from Spain you'd briefly pop into Moroccan airspace then turn into Gib. The approach and landing were always great fun, particularly when it was windy.
Re: Gibraltar Airport
My favourite airport is Burgas. Opened about two hours after my birth. Obviously part of the worldwide celebrations (the delay must've been to ensure the infant was viable, and for the news to reach Bulgaria). Although, strangely, I can't find any other activity marking the day...

Re: Gibraltar Airport
Last time I went, I drove over the border and had to queue for about two hours whilst some fat Pablo searched cars, dismantling straw donkeys looking for smuggled yorkshire puddings or pork sausages.
