Interesting stats

Post ludo21 »

Link to stats on twitter (can a mod add chart if possible): https://twitter.com/DataMB_/status/1702294060843626513 Midfield stats from top 7 leagues showing 'successful defensive actions per 90 mins : successful attacking actions per 90 mins' so far this season. Soucek (18 per 90 mins) and Alvarez (17) top the table for defensive actions.... Lucas is also putting a shift in.

Pity it’s all defensive, rather we were topping attacking stats. Is current joint 3rd highest goal scorers in the Premier League, not an attacking enough stat for you?

Soucek has often been good at winning the ball. However, the ideal is to win the ball without giving it straight back

Paqueta has the most successful tackles in the Premier league also apparently. We've converted a Brazilian diva, to a snot dripping clogger. Classic Moyes.

ha ha.... it's been a slow day! I found it vaguely interesting... several people digging Soucek out but I think a lot of his defensive work goes unnoticed / unrecognised but this table shows that he's 'showing some worth'.

Not surprising is it? If you spend the vast majority of the games defending with 10 men behind the ball then your midfielders are going to have more defensive actions than those of other teams.
