Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"West Ham United sign Greece international Konstantinos Mavropanos West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of Greece international Konstantinos Mavropanos. The centre-back ‚Äì known to his family, friends and teammates as 'Dinos' ‚Äì arrives at London Stadium from German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Capped 19 times by his country, Athens-born Mavropanos is a dominant presence at 6‚Äô4, a defender who plays on the front foot and is now looking forward to bringing his extensive range of talents to east London. ‚ÄúI am really happy and excited to be here ‚Äì and to be back in the Premier League with West Ham United,‚Äù said the new No15, who made his Premier League debut as an Arsenal player in 2018. ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs an exciting time to be joining the Club after last season‚Äôs Conference League win ‚Äì and I am really looking forward to the next step in my career. I can promise the fans I will give everything for them and the shirt.‚Äù Born in Athens in December 1997, Mavropanos started his career with local club Apollon Smyrnis as a ten-year-old before signing his first professional contract with PAS Giannina in the northern city of Ioannina in 2016. The tall, physically imposing defender debuted in a Greek Cup win over Agrotikos at 18 years and eleven months and totaled 20 appearances for PAS, including 16 in the Super League, while still a teenager. In January 2018, Arsenal brought him to north London, and he made his first appearance for the Gunners in a Premier League fixture against Manchester United three months later. The youngster played eight times across 18 months before being loaned to German side 1. FC N?ºrnberg in January 2020. Impressive performances there saw him sign a new Arsenal contract and be loaned to Bundesliga club Stuttgart for each of the next two seasons, 2020/21 and 2021/22. After netting five goals in 55 appearances, he made the transfer permanent in May 2022 and added another 34 games and three goals last term. For Greece, Mavropanos was capped at U21 level before making his senior debut in a friendly win over Honduras in March 2021. Since then, he has hardly missed a game, starting four FIFA World Cup qualifiers, six UEFA Nations League ties and all three UEFA European Championship qualifiers played so far. Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Konstantinos to London Stadium and wish him every success in Claret and Blue. Mavropanos spacer"

"Miike. I wouldn't worry, he'll get his chance against Sheffield United when Moyes goes extra cautious as he will reckon their response will be aƒ?l out revenge."

"yet another player having to wait weeks/months for a chance, while mistake ridden favourites continue to stink the place out week after week. smells like another player he didn't want, so continues with his 'bedding in' bollocks kudus, another he has no idea how to use and has to wait until something happens to soucek before he'll ever get a start. sick of it"

Why did East Ham Bull not play for weeks? That’s nobodies business but the Greeks.
Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"He’s changed his first name to the East Ham Bull. So now it’s East Ham Bull, not Konstantinos. Why he had to change, I really couldn’t say. People just liked it better that way."

May only be Gib he scored against but he looked liked fucking Gulliver when his team mates congratulated him. Can't wait to see him getting on the end of JWP corners and free kicks

"swindon hammer 10:34 Mon Sep 11 Have you ever watched Zouma closely after any game? He always seems to be hobbling or holding something. The bloke is like an Ox, gives 100% and plays through everything it seems but I'm not counting on him having a long career."

Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
The Greek lad will get loads of games. We have at least 7 guaranteed cup games this side of Christmas for a start. Then it’s almost guaranteed that Zouma will hobble off in a game in the not too distant future and miss a few games. Has Zouma ever played 15 consecutive league games for us without getting injured?
Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"Kehrer might only be 4th/5th choice CB but he's probably still 2nd choice RB, unless Mavropanos fills in there. He has played at RB a few times, and looking at YouTube clips he looks like a better attacker than Kehrer as well."

Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"Well he still has to earn his place, cant see Zouma or Aguard being dropped at the moment, and quite rightly so so unless Moyes plans to play 3 at CB he will have to be patient. Both are often out with an injury so at some point he will get his chance and in the Cup games, but he's 3rd/4th in line right now as far as PL is concerned. And then whose to know that Ogbonna isn't seen as the first choice back up?."

"Regardless of the oppo, 2 goals for a defender is still impressive in an intl match. I don't think this is a player who is going to be happy sitting on the bench every week, so will be interesting to see what happens with him."

"Fuck me, I just read this entire thread and honestly enjoyed and thought about the pros and cons of every argument and EVERYONE had a great point to make. No ad hominem insults and very astute football supporting takes, with comments that I, basically an idiot, had to think about. What the fuck!"

Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"Nags - Yes he will get plenty of game time hopefully, but doubt he is in Moyes head right now as a shoe in for the first team. Good to have quality on the bench though."
Re: Konstantinos Mavropanos Signed
"There most likely will be injuries though. Last season Aguerd and Zouma started just 6 PL games together. Even if Aguerd didn't get that injury at the start of the season it would have been just 19 games. If Mavropanos is the 3rd choice CB, he'll get plenty of game time. Obviously that might change if we get in Maguire, but then maybe one of the others will go, or maybe we'll play 3 at the back sometimes."
