Past teammates of mine had played with and against him at the schoolboy level and thought he was a decent person. Would often see him out drinking with Moore and co back in the day. First player I saw that had an unconventional run up when talking a penalty for Chelsea. Ahead of his time tactical wise which he started at Crystal Palace with John Cartwright. He'll be sadly missed in football and in person.RIP.

Great manager and personality. That Holland game was the best performance I have ever seen by England. That match aside and maybe the German game I wouldn’t say we were that great in the Euros but it was memorable nonetheless and it would have been nice to see what El Tel could have done with the players at future tournaments. RIP
