I changed up money at a small shop next door to El Secreto de Oro in Palermo and it went fine and they were legit. My hotel gave me a pen to check the notes to know they were real. Enjoy BA.

Apparently fake money is an issue, they take the good cash and return it saying fake (they switched it) so you give them another note. "What I should have said is that the official exchange rate was FAR below - stupidly below - the unofficial one, so you just did it in unofficial places (markets etc). It was a little worrying but never a problem. Have you looked on Reddit and the like?"

"Argie exchange rate was pretty flat at 400/1 , it shot up to 1030/1 a week ago. Got some $$ just in case"
