Re: Remaining Games
Wolves away won't be simple buy might suit us. Leverkeusen in between. Then Fulham at home. They've become quite decent so God knows how that will go. We should be beating them the Euro game will probably be a priority for Dave.
Re: Remaining Games
The league cup winner gets the conference spot now. Not that it matters this season (or most).
Re: Remaining Games
Technically the FA Cup winner gets the ECL spot so if Man City (or Man U or Chelsea if they finish in the top seven) win it 8th place in the league should get ECL football if the top five qualify for CL.
Re: Remaining Games
"Anyone know which league places get Europe next season. If, as seems possible, the top five qualify for CL, then 6th and 7th would get EL (as Liverpool won the League Cup and therefore that place goes to 7th... so 8th would get ECL. If Man City win the FA Cup then does that mean another league place?"

Re: Remaining Games
"Just read this article https://www.hammers.news/news/how-many-points-west-ham-will-likely-need-from-last-8-games-to-win-5-horse-race-for-europe/ It says that we will need to win 4 games to qualify or manage to get 12 points based on the predictions for the other 5 teams involved. That means we need to beat Wolves, Fulham, Palace and Luton, which in reality we should be doing. So the next three games will almost certainly determine our chances of Europe, unless we win the Europa League of course."
Re: Remaining Games
If City have won the Premier before the last game of season and in champions league final we could nick a draw up there to finish 7th
Re: Remaining Games
It's all academic as I think we will beat Leverkusen and go on to win the EL. We can beat anyone on our day and with a bit of luck! Just image beating Liverpool in Klopp's last game with a dodgy penalty... the last 50 years would have been worth it!!!

"We are use to it a bit now. I still think we have a good chance of 8th, but have to beat Wolves on Saturday. Hopefully the Bees beat the Seagulls later, apparently they murdered Manu on Saturday."

"I think we'd miss Europe if we weren't in it next season, Manuel (I don't think we will, btw)."

Re: Remaining Games
"Would anyone really want to be in the Conference League next season (likely 8th spot) ? Yea I know it's still Europe and a chance for more trips etc, but when you look at the lack of press Villa have had it's a reminder of the credibility of the thing. Also, it may increase Moyes's chances of staying and another season with a shitload of Sunday games, although admittedly I don't mind Sunday's."

Re: Remaining Games
Did this prediction with my lad last night after we got home from the game. I think I predicted 53 (14 11 13) and he predicted 54 (14 12 12). We'll probably finish about 9th with that kind of tally which is where we should finish. We are bang average.

Re: Remaining Games
Sydney is a pessimist who likes to think he’s the opposite. He accepts things the way they are and makes the best of it as he sees it as being how West Ham is…..an optimist wouldn’t except the clubs current decisions and still want for better at great risk…..as they always think we can do better….and should do better….

"I'm a troll know am i? LOL FMOB! As to being an Optimist, been supporting this club all my life and one thing i have learned is you have to remain optimistic, let's face it we usually fuck things up one way or another.... We will lose to Man city; we all know that but come game day i will think/hope we can spring a surprise, even though this far out i can see it's a lost cause if i put my rational head on. I will keep the Optimist and Troll like head on for now thanks!"

"Sydney - Weird how you've decided just to become a troll poster on here now, I mean why now after all these years? You're entire analysis is just based on you being an optimist? Haha, fucking hell."

Re: Remaining Games
"I did say i was an optimist in my original post Scott, LOL But i do get your point and Manuels about our form so far against lower league teams not to mention the amount of games we may have to play if we keep going in the Europa. I prefer to look forward rather than back so sticking with my 13 points, granted its very unlikely on paper, but i will keep the faith. COYI"

"Sydney_Iron 9:43 Wed Apr 3 Re: Remaining Games Not quite Manuel, im assuming (hoping) we get 3 points V Wolves, Fulham, Palace and Luton, all very doable wouldn't you agree? --- Individually yes, but collectively, there is no way we are winning all 4 of those games. There is 6 points between us and Fulham in 13th. I'm thining we'll do well to finish in the top half."

Re: Remaining Games
"Sydney - Fair enough, at least a bit of analysis. But to hope, assume, we will win the winnable games is probably off the mark considering we have dropped points the entire season against bottom half sides, as you commented on yourself just a few days ago. Couple that with 11 points taken from the last 12 games, that would be some turn around. We have only won 2 games all calendar year. Throw into the mix at least 2 more games in Europe, and I can't say I'm too hopeful of even going close to your prediction. Maybe our best chance of 7th is the teams below us continuing to slip up, fuck knows how we are still 7th."
Re: Remaining Games
4 more points incoming playing Moyesball and out of Europe ending up 10th or 11th.
