Hopefully that loophole has closed and they get hit next season
Hopefully, the Championship are rubbing their hands together waiting to slap them with the most enormous points deduction.

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
I get the impression that the underlying aim is to protect Brand PL, and as a collateral benefit, protect Brand CL.
Under such criteria, some participants of Brand PL will be thrown under the bus at the expense of others, and the circus will move on.
I suspect the bus underneath which we will end up has already, as sure as eggs is eggs, been readied for service.

When they were in the relegation mix, towards of the 2022/23 season, Leicester changed their accounting year end date, from 31st May, to 30th June, towards the end of April 2023. Leicester claimed, that as they weren't in the Premier League at the end of June 2023 (having been relegated in May) the Premier League had no jurisdtiction over them, for PSR purposes, which a tribunal, ageed with. Leicester, took advantage, of the Premier League's own rules.

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
Wasn't what Leicester did even more controversial and very ''clever'' that they got away with, something like they overlapped their accounts with two separate bodies i.e the PL and the EFL and found a loophole to avoid PSR sanctions. Simon Jordan thought it was scandalous and said he hoped they get relegated.

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
Mentioned before that when Boehly was doing his due diligence on the Chelsea purchase he discovered that payments were made outside the books during the Abramovich era to reduce losses
He quite rightly flagged this to the Premier league but nothing has happened
Reckon it’s safely in the long grass now and nothing WILL happen
Obviously it’s an open and shut case
Presumably it came to light when a player or agent or other creditor flagged that they were owed a further payment & Chelsea couldn’t produce evidence that the first amount was paid by the right entity
The Womens team for £200m is just laughable as are all internal sales rearranging the deck chairs

It's only unfair because our owners and their employees aren't clever enough to do it. We seem to mostly agree on here that if an owner has a billion quid more than another owner, they should be able to spend loads more. Chelsea have the money and if this is what they have to do to facilitate spending their own money without worrying about debt then I have to begrudgingly respect their ability to do it again.
In the end Boley will be selling his own car to Chelsea for a few million quid!

It’s a case of multi billionaire owners. Trying too stay multi billionaire owners by as spending as little as possible. Making sure nobody else can possibly eat at the same table. And trying their upmost to show the rest of the world they are honest business people.

"This easing of penalties the more you offend seems incredibly convenient for one mind-bogglingly wealthy and successful club in particular, doesn't it? Looks like the Premier League readying itself the proverbial slap across the wrist for PepChester..."

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
wouldn't be surprised if there's some clandestine agreement that they'll dock as many points as posssible without relegating them.
Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
Well Sky are either revelling in the fact that Everton could get relegated or are trying to help them financially as they are on Live on Sky 5 times between now and the end of May. West Ham no appearances on Sky at all!!

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
"I dont buy this idea of reducing the penalty because they have already been punished for losses in 2 of the previous years If you know that you are in breach over a 2 year period the obligation is to rectify that in year 3. Even if that means selling Pickford, Tarkowski etc In the last couple of years when they were in breach Everton bought the Burnley winger McNeill and outbid us on Onana when supposedly his sister/agent wanted his high wages to be boosted by a substantial premium for HER. Cant see any action on their part to repair the FFP hole they were in. 8 points over 2 offences is no deterent to stop teams cheating like this. I think the initial 10 point penalty was fair and a second offence should be more. Maybe 15 or 20 points"

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
"The PL seem determined to make Everton (And forest to a lesser extent) sail as close to the wind as possible when it comes to getting relegated? Everton and Forest however should be grateful all these punishments and point deductions are coming in a season when the bottom 3 looks nailed on from the opening game of the season. It could go tits up and either gets relegated, but you look at the relegation battle and it hasn't been this clear cut for years, any other season and they would both be fucked"

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
"The way I read it, Everton were docked 10, reduced to 6 on appeal. It was a breach of PSR over a 3 year period. They've breached again but 2 of those 3 years have already been punished, so now they've been docked 2 points for the 'new' year. I think it was pretty much expected"

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
The reason for the 2 points is because it was about a quarter of the amount Forest were punished for. Plus the 16m that they were over by was partially due to the sanctions on a sponsorship with Usmonov’s USM company. They are appealing but that might fall flat as it’s a second offense. I’m far more concerned with how Man City’s 100+ breaches are punished.

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
"2 pts doesn’t surprise me, they got 10pts reduced to 6 on appeal. Forest then get 4pts for breaking the exact same rule but by a greater margin (figure that out?) Everton then get 2 pts which brings their total to 8, exactly double Forests penalty for breaking the same rule twice. Wouldn’t be surprised if both the Forest and Everton appeals don’t get this round of punishments reduced and this is how it stays so no one can claim the two teams were treated differently"

Sullivan is a tight bastard . I couldn't believe the amount of Moyes apologists on kumb claiming . We should be 10th to 12 th on the wage bill . Forgetting the turnover of the club and where were we are on the attendance table. Dwarfs playing possum. He's doing the usual trick of cooking the books before a sale .
