Re: Fish the shallows
"My late brother used to fish at the specimen pond out near Newbury..he caught The Parrot..not sure what it weighed when Dick caught it but when it died it weighed almost 68 lbs....I have a(very cherished) photo of him with the fish and, yes ,there's a loving sparkle in his eye !"

Carp fisherman are weirdos... especially those photos they take half in half out the water with some massive fat ugly lazy bottom feeder in their lap... looking on at it lovingly as if they have Brandi (storage Wars) in the vicinity... proper weirdos

Nice one Sydney. I often thought I’d like a koi carp pond. Maybe a good plan for when I retired and incapable of doing other stuff.

Re: Fish the shallows
"My Carp, of the Koi variety spawned late last year, made a right fucking mess of the pond mind, thrashing about shagging each other. Didnt think much of it except destructive bastards but then about 2 months ago we started seeing little koi carp! only problem was the big carp are not too fussy what they eat and Canabals, so the little ones didn't last long all except ONE, who is now about 4 inches long and big enough to not get eaten by the big fuckers. I do like keeping these fish though, just sitting on the deck watching them swim about and forage for food is very relaxing, got 8, well 9 including the little fella and a couple have grown massive must be well over 5kg"
