The Official Cowdenbeath 2024-25 Season Thread - Scottish Lowland Football League

Post cup of tea »

Yes, it is the thread you have all been waiting for. The mighty COO go once again in 2024/2025 and I am going to stick my neck out and say that the COO will walk the league this season and win it by a record margin with a record points haul.

After some consolidation in recent seasons the whispers coming out from the staff, players, manager, executives and fans is one of absolute confidence which is refreshing to see and hear.

Nothing will stop us this season, and I don’t even want to hear about the scum from Kelty Hearts, they mean NOTHING to us.

the sponsors of the Jack Denham shirt get it sent to them as part of the sponsorship deal.

Does anyone want the shirt and if so, let me know your address by whomail - will ask them to send it to the first person who contacts.

Other idea could be that we say to them they can raffle it instead and put it back in the club funds, as I don't think they're exactly rolling in it as a club at the moment.

Raffle it's a brilliant idea.

I'd be interested second dibs, after Lord Hatred, if it's a short sleeve version - can't see anybody out here in NE Thailand would even have the faintest idea who's kit it was.
Can cover the postage out here, no issues, but money back into the club funds works best for me.

Oh, and will we be getting early doors next season to do this again?

The foundations he’s laid will stand as a testament.

What a springboard he’s left.

𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐈𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐋 As many will be aware, Cowdenbeath manager Dougie Hill stepped down from his post at full-time after the win v Berwick Rangers. He had confirmed his decision to the Board earlier in the day and spoke to his players and staff after the game. Then at the Player of the Year event he was able to tell the fans present of his decision at the end of the presentation ceremonies. Dougie leaves with our very best wishes and just as in his playing days it has been a real pleasure to have him at Central Park in the manager’s chair. In his first managerial role, he worked hard to build his own team and most fans would readily agree he progressively put together an entertaining, attacking and enterprising side - despite the horrendous injury jinx that plagued us most of the season and the loss of our captain in January. The younger players that he brought into the team blossomed as the season went on. Strong morale and harmony in the dressing room was plain to see. He took us to 10th place in the League once more and but for the aforementioned injuries we are certain a higher finish would have been achieved. Dougie was looking to build further on this foundation for next season but budgetary constraints were set to make this more challenging and that largely led Dougie to make what was for him a difficult decision. We thank him on behalf of everyone at Cowdenbeath FC and all our fans for all his efforts and achievements in his times with Cowdenbeath FC over the years. He has always been a popular figure at Central Park for his commitment and his approachability. As aforementioned, we wish Dougie all the best as we now of course turn our attention to seeking his successor.

A respectful and well earned away point at 15th placed Berwick Rangers, sees the COO one of five clubs all within one point of each other, in the race for that upper mid~table 9th placed position in the Scottish Lowland League.

you couldn’t call it at this stage and everything to play for.

Still sat here, stunned.

it’s the effort that counts though and if the COO continue to put in healthy performances like this until the end of the season, we could be looking at a higher mid~table slot.
